About The Head Of Commercial Excellence (pharmaceutical) Role

The primary role of the Head of Commercial Excellence (pharmaceutical) is to drive commercial and business excellence by the design, planning and implementation of commercial processes, projects and initiatives to maximise top and bottom line results.

Key Responsibilities

• Establishing a commercial operating mechanism that enables the Region to manage the commercial activities, funnel, sales numbers, with rigour and predictability
• Identifying and supporting the roll out of tools related to: Account planning and Analytics tools (margin management, CRM, etc.)
• Leading and coordinating the regional implementation of Commercial Excellence initiatives aligned to global strategy
• Developing and implementing, together with the Sales and Marketing department, of different marketing and sales projects in line with the strategic imperatives of the organisation
• Driving continuous improvement in the commercial (sales and operations) processes

To succeed in this Head of Commercial Excellence (pharmaceutical) role you must be career-driven, have deep contacts and experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Key Requirements

• Understanding of the key challenges of infectious diseases in emerging markets but also have relevant experience outside the healthcare sector
• Experience in working in Asia markets is a plus
• Strong leadership skills
• Experience in strategic decision support, market forecasting, performance tracking and marketing analytics are desired
• Demonstrated decision-making latitude
• Commercial experience, responsible for sales targets and leading commercial teams
• At least 10 years' sales/marketing/business development/partnership experience in the medical devices/pharmaceutical industry
• Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university; MBA is strongly preferred
• Ability to think out of the box and demonstrate innovative thinking
