Worley is in bid phase for a mining project based in Indonesia. Worley has supported the project’s feasibility study and has now been engaged to undertake civil detailed design for earthworks and roads. Worley is in discussions for additional packages of work and is looking for expressions of interest for a Contract Manager for a commitment of 2+ years with the opportunity to extend.

As the Operational Readiness Lead you will facilitate the development and effective implementation of Project Quality Management Systems by the Project Team in a manner that meets Corporate, location and contractual requirements of Worley and our client.

You will also manage project service and product verification and inspection the project consistent with criticality assessments and contractual and regulatory obligations, while overseeing the project quality support functions including quality planning, preventive action, non-conformance control, corrective action, audits and project quality reporting and review.

Additional Responsibilities Will Include

• Optimize human resources to ensure maximum output is delivered.
• Ensuring operational readiness by reviewing current projects that are aligned with a standard process improvement framework and methodology.
• Ensure implementation of the production system standards and apply appropriate detailed diagnostic tools and systems.
• Provide a baseline detailed estimate of all materials and work to be performed directly and a detailed schedule of all activities directly related to ramp-up of production to ensure operational readiness.
• Conduct an analysis and interpret the root cause of any variances and distribute a consolidated report to the key role players to ensure corrective action is taken.
• Define and agree on KPI’s and ensure alignment with the stated production and business goals in the Business Case.
• Facilitate alignment of roles and responsibilities within the Operational Readiness team and other stakeholders to ensure effective operational ramp-up.
• Ensure environmental impact falls within and complies with statutory requirements.
• Work with the Project HSE Advisor and the Project Management Team to ensure that all areas of the Project’s operations conform to applicable Worley, regulatory and contractual HSE obligations.
• Providing a detailed schedule and estimate for the ORP with specific focus on lead times, ensuring all resources i.e., people, equipment and machinery are in place to meet operational readiness requirements.
• High level of work ethics is maintained, ensuring that workers continuously strive towards improving their own performance.
• Manage a safe and healthy work environment where workers and contractors can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
• Establish and develop an effective communication plan between key stakeholders to ensure efficient change management as and when required.
• Capturing and sharing best operational practices and carry out internal and external benchmarking to enhance business optimisation processes.
• Distribute and communicate the detailed Operational Breakdown Structure to ensure that agreement is reached prior to commencement of production.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess a combination of work experience, skills and or qualifications in the following areas:

• Prior experience as an operational readiness lead / manager
• Working knowledge of operational readiness processes
• Team management skills.
• Tertiary qualifications in engineering or other relevant discipline
• Prior experience in the mining or resources industry is advantageous
• Demonstrate behaviour and practices consistent with Managerial, co-worker and community duty of care obligations.
• Excellent communication / interpersonal skills.
• Work as part of a multi-discipline team.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in operational readiness
