Worley is in bid phase for a mining project based in Indonesia. Worley has supported the project’s feasibility study and has now been engaged to undertake civil detailed design for earthworks and roads. Worley is in discussions for additional packages of work and is looking for expressions of interest for a Contract Manager for a commitment of 2+ years with the opportunity to extend.

As our Procurement Lead you will lead a team of procurement experts in various specialties assigned to ensure delivery of materials, supplies, equipment, and services to meet project requirements within budget and on schedule.

Your Additional Responsibilities Will Include

• Report to the Project Manager as a senior member of the project execution team. Work with engineering, planning, project controls, construction and quality management to ensure procurement is properly aligned with the expectations of the other groups in understanding and addressing the project requirements. Monitor and make changes as work progresses.
• Comply with Company procurement policies and procedures and act within limits of delegated authority. Ensure that assigned team members follow policies and procedures, have proper levels of delegation and act strictly within them. Ensures compliance with Company's Code of Conduct
• Counsel, assist and direct subordinate managers in accomplishing the project procurement objectives. Identify, develop and implement training to enable staff to more efficiently and effectively perform assigned functions. Encourage and promote innovation in obtaining procurement objectives.
• Participates in the project risk assessment workshops and outlines the procurement related risks to the project. In collaboration with other project disciplines, prepares the project procurement plan to include appropriate mitigation for the risks. Amend and update the project procurement plan as required in changing circumstances.
• Manage the overall procurement activities in a project, including, purchasing, expediting, supplier surveillance and inspection, traffic and logistics, contract formation and administration.
• Develop and implement the overall procurement procedures and plans. to include close out activities of project procurement and hand over of deliverables to the client at the end of the project.
• Liaise with the Project Manager and is the primary procurement interface between the Client, the project, and the supplier community.
• Ensure proper staffing, formal means of transferring work to site and oversight of field activities.
• Establish and maintain close relations and communication with the Customer to ensure procurement is being executed as the contract requires and Customer expects, while protecting the Company's interests. Maintain and manage the procurement reporting to and from the Client.
• Establish a field procurement capability to support construction management, if applicable.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess a combination of work experience, skills and or qualifications in the following areas:

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Procurement within the resources, construction and infrastructure sectors
• Proficiency in another language may be a significant advantage in certain location assignments.
• Proficient in the use of computers and commonly-used business software.
• Work as part of a multi-discipline team.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Procurement Lead role
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English is required.
• Have the experience and skills to set the standard and drive the rest of the team to excel in HSE
• Team management skills.
• Proven experience in supervising and mentoring others in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with conflicting priorities and limited time available.
• Excellent communication / interpersonal skills.
