Position Summary:
The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive support to various HR functions, with a strong emphasis on ensuring strict compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and organizational policies. This role plays a pivotal part in maintaining a compliant and inclusive workplace environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Policy Compliance:** Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Ensure strict compliance with all HR policies and procedures. Assist in developing and updating policies as necessary.
2. **Recruitment and Staffing:** Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, source candidates, conduct interviews, and ensure compliance throughout the hiring process.
3. **Onboarding:** Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring all required paperwork is completed accurately and in compliance with regulations.
4. **Benefits Administration:** Administer employee benefits programs while adhering to legal and policy requirements. Address employee benefit-related inquiries and issues in compliance with laws.
5. **Employee Relations:** Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflicts, always following compliance protocols to resolve workplace issues.
6. **HR Records:** Maintain accurate HR databases and records to meet legal and policy requirements. Prepare HR reports as needed.
7. **Training and Development:** Coordinate compliance-focused training programs and initiatives to enhance employee skills and knowledge. Identify compliance training needs and recommend suitable solutions.
8. **Performance Management:** Support the performance appraisal process with compliance guidelines. Ensure performance feedback and improvement plans adhere to policies and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3 years of HR experience, with a strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
