About the Role
The role is accountable for developing and delivering on relationships with Beneficial Cargo Owner (BCO) accounts in Medan. You are responsible for the overall marketing and commercial performance of global freight and third-party logistics (3PL) business in the area.
You must be highly motivated with a strong domestic, import/ export ocean (NVOCC) and air transportation skill set, capable of developing compelling value proposition and fostering strong relationships with BCOs.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the Head of Key Account Management to manage and oversee the marketing and commercial performance of domestic and global freight (NVOCC), 3PL logistics, consolidation/ deconsolidation and distribution.
- Ensure that safety, customer satisfaction, and service commitments are met.
- Implement compelling value proposition that foster strong relationship with BCO by leveraging the end-to-end integration of all DP World assets/ entities worldwide - ports, global freight, 3PL and other logistic solutions.
- Implement marketing plan and sales strategies to surpass set company sales targets and volume ensuring profitability.
- Partner and communicate with suppliers, customers, and other key stakeholders.
- Find and develop qualified leads, convert through sales process into prospects and customers.
- Perform metrics reporting and data analysis to identify issues and opportunities for service improvements, increase in revenue yield and client management.
- Sales contact point for prospects.
- Participate in and win BCO freight and logistics bid.
Safety Accountabilities
- Allocate adequate resources to eliminate/ reduce identified HSSE risks to as low as reasonably practicable, and supervise the HSSE enforcement to get the desired result.
- Commit to compliance with applicable HSSE requirement in the responsible fields/ department.
- Influence critical HSSE behaviour expectations by demonstrating role-model in the responsible field/ department.
- Deliver HSSE KPIs cascaded to the responsible field/ department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Worked directly with BCOs, with proven track record of building and maintaining high quality, long-term relationships.
- 6-8 years’ experience in ocean/ air freight forwarding, port, customs brokerage, logistics, warehouse, or transportation sales and marketing.
- Strong team player with excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
