Job Description
Responsibilities

  • Continually review operations, all tools and equipment suitability and sustainability to minimize transfer loss and application defects that can translate to cost savings.
  • Continuous training inhouse records for blaster & painter
  • Be physically fit, qualified to NACE Level 3 or FROSIO Level 3, min 10 years’ relevant experience in similar coating applicator set up and coating inspection, previous managerial/coating engineer/supervisory experience would be considered, diploma or engineering degree holder is added advantage.
  • Maintain traceability and upkeep proper records:
  • Supervisor, foremen, blasters and painter’s certification, register and competency matrix.
  • Performed Level 3 painting supervision during CPT, mixing and coating application activity including weekly walkabout as required by client /project specification.
  • Response or clarification during bidding stage associated with coating
  • Coating, thinner and abrasive materials COA and ensure SDS readily available including store First In/First Out system for materials, environmental data record of facility.
  • Technical query associated with coating
  • Coating application equipment register including certification, maintenance record and maintenance plan by working in conjunction with facility dept.
  • Generate training material and provide regular induction to blaster & painter for specific project requirements and improvement objectives.
  • Support company HSE objectives and attend HSE related activities as required such as bi-weekly toolbox meetings.
  • Maintain blasting and painting facilities as per project requirements and approved procedures. Responsible to get facility approved for international accreditation under various applicable painting contractor certification program (such as SSPC QP1 etc).
  • Lessons learnt and JHA as required for each project
  • Response for non-conformance related to coating
  • Ensure and carry out all blasting and coating operations as per projects requirements and approved procedures by collaborating with QA/QC team.
  • Blasting and painting procedures including specialized application.
  • Review and generate
  • Responsible to handle audits related to coating by client by addressing client comments and closing suggestion for improvements, observation and non-conformance from such audits.
  • Generate blasting and painting plan together with required manpower resources for each project, to minimize repair/contact/touch up works and to ensure appropriate and timely application without exceeding maximum overcoating intervals.
  • Calculation of paint consumption/specific transfer loss formulae in conjunction with PMT.
