About Aquarev

Aquarevis a venture-backed social enterprise created by The Meloy Fundto renovate, revitalize, and revolve credit for up to 75,000 poorly performing smallholder shrimp farms in Indonesia. Via a proprietary agtech+fintech platform, farmers receive financial support for best-practice renovation and climate-smart intensification of their shrimp ponds, and are provided hands-on support and guidance at the farm level to optimize the day-to-day cultivation process. By following international standards and best practices for shrimp, farmers can improve their profitability while ensuring their farms are sustainably managed, reducing negative impacts on water, soil, coastal ecosystems, and reducing pressure on mangrove deforestation.

Since its pilot establishment in 2018, Aquarev has completed a total of 7 cycles of shrimp farming operations with 7 farmers in Lampung, Indonesia. This pilot operation has been successful in increasing farm yields by 10x, increasing farmers’ revenue by 15x, and meeting or exceeding key aquaculture certification standards. Aquarev is now launching its growth phase, bringing in more than US$4 million in investment to scale up its reach to 300 farmers and to implement a series of new sustainability initiatives.Aquarev seeks a dynamic, creative, and high-integrity management team to drive the growth of this innovative new company forward, ultimately to reach thousands of small-scale farmers in Indonesia and beyond.

About the opportunity

Aquarev is looking for a senior human resources associate. The ideal candidate will have experience in HR and employee recruitment, with a thorough understanding of HR policies and procedures.

The role will involve employee orientations, benefits administration, compensation and there is great opportunity for developing and refining systems. We’re eager to find a human resources manager who connects easily with people and has a detail-oriented mindset for handling the dynamic nature of today’s workforce.

Objectives of this role

· Support the business growth by developing, overseeing and refining employee standards and procedures, using effective HR methods as well as improved or recommended processes

· Maintain and enhance employee benefits programs, including compensation, health insurance, expense reimbursement.

· Assist with recruitment efforts, and prepare employees for their assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs

· Ensure compliance with national and local HR regulations

· Identify and recommend improvements to internal standard operating procedures, including team restructuring and value driven morale building

Responsibilities

· Support departments in developing and delivering strategic HR plans that fit with the overall business direction

· Plan, monitor, and appraise HR activities by scheduling management, resolving employee grievances, training managers in how to coach and discipline, and counseling employees and supervisors

· Champion the onboarding process by ensuring that it's high-quality and up to date, and provide clarity and connection for employees so their roles serve the overall business vision

· Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human-resources policies and procedures

· Assist on community development activities, helping empower the fishing communities and their families.

· Support and build on ESG Activities to enhance the welfare and safety of pond workers and laborers.

Required skills and qualifications

· Five or more years of experience in human resources or employee recruitment

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and an ethical mindset

· Adept at problem-solving and conflict resolution

· Familiarity with HR software

· Passion for empowering and helping small communities

Preferred skills and qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in human resources or related field

· Strong understanding of national laws related to HR
