Job Description

About Our Client
With international borders opening up, and trading activity has increases, our client, a logistic-tech company is looking to expand their business to Indonesia. As such, they are looking to hire the first Country Director to spearhead its launch in Indonesia.
With regional presence across SEA and Europe, they are confident that their product serves what the market has been anticipating for.

Reporting to the CEO or founder, the high-calibre candidate will be responsible for launching, setting up, developing, and implementing the business strategies to ensure Indonesia is launched successfully.
The individual will be the first key hire in Indonesia, but eventually will be responsible to lead multi-functional teams. He or she has to be comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment. Other key responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Working and collaborating with regional team to identify and execute initiatives to drive customer awareness, acquisitions, conversions, and retention.
  • In-depth understanding of consumer behaviour, and the financial services landscape in Indonesia.
  • Developing and implementing strategic objectives to increase efficiency in all aspects of the companies.
  • Identifying potential local partners, distributors, suppliers, customers to facilitate the market entry.
  • Developing comprehensive strategies that aligns with the business objectives and executing them.
  • Ability to understand the various of the product and increase revenue opportunity by offering innovative products.
  • Conducting regular reporting to the regional management with business updates, performance updates, new initiatives, opportunities and obstacles.
  • Working with senior management across countries to understand market opportunities in order to set direction for the business and localising them to Indonesian market.
  • Overseeing the setup local operations, identifying risks and challenges associated with entering new market, and adapting the business practices, products to suit the local culture.
  • Establishing systems and procedures for controls and evaluation of the team's performances accordingly to their targets.
  • Providing advise with the management to identify and define the business needs and objectives (including current operational procedures, problems and requirements).
  • Managing the full P&L for the whole operation in Indonesia.
  • Leading and executing the success of the business through strategic planning, market analysis.
  • Building and developing a strong culture that empowers the talent through coaching and mentoring.
The Successful Applicant
The selected candidate should come from logistic background, and be able to communicate in Bahasa and English. Other requirement includes:
  • Independent, self-starter and initiative: an entrepreneurial mindset with a great personality and start-up experience will be a plus.
  • Excellent business acumen and willingness to be hands-on, data driven and able to work within tight deadlines.
  • At least 15 years of working experience, with at least 4 years in operation management (leadership level). Experience in scaling up a business in the logistic (3PL or freight-forwarding business) is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytics and project management, and results-driven individual.
  • Ability to lead a team, and experience as people leader.
  • Work well with multiple stakeholders who are based in multiple countries and time-zone.
  • Drive and hunger to achieve results.
  • Strong ability to set clear measurable objectives, delegate responsibilities, assess, recognise and reward performance.
