Senior Business Analyst main work focus is in strategy creation/implementation, merger & acquisition, project valuation, business development in renewable energy and green credits. This role is expected to work on key analysis to understand the business problem’s root causes, recommend action plans, and ensure that the recommendations are implemented well. Early on, this role takes charge in identifying information sources, gathering and interpreting data, executing analysis, generating insights, and presenting findings to the team and other stakeholders. Senior business analyst works in a small but high performing project-based team, owning a distinct aspect of the project. Functionally this role reports to the Assistant Head-Business Development or Assistant Head-Strategic planning. On a day-to-day basis, as part of a project team, this role reports to the project manager and may have one or more positions reporting to it.


Responsibilities

  • Articulate ideas and communicate effectively with all audiences, including senior leaders, in a structured manner
  • Apply both theoretical and practical concepts to perform process analysis and generate recommendations based on the conclusions.
  • Structure ambiguous problems into a clear problem definition with distinct boundaries
  • Work effectively with cross functional teams to come up with solution and move people and organizations to act.
  • Lead or participate in multiple SPBD projects by completing and updating project documentation; managing project scope; adjusting schedules when necessary; determining daily priorities; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; following proper escalation paths; and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Synthesize clear takeaways from complex unstructured information
  • Provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others; identifying and initiating projects; managing resources; driving the resolution of issues; and holding self and team accountable for results.
  • Gather relevant data from people (e.g. via interviews, surveys) and from information systems (e.g. via data extraction and data mining)
  • Analyze complex quantitative and qualitative data in an efficient manner and synthesizing the output into meaningful and actionable insights
  • Follow systematic problem solving methodology while being creative in finding possible breakthrough
  • Break down complex issues into its components by understanding the root causes and dynamics that give raise to them
  • Participate and lead problem solving process including:
  • Prepare financial models, valuation estimates, management discussion, and presentations that may involve customized reports requiring in-depth analysis and commentary.
  • Manage relationship and expectations by developing a communication process to keep others up to date on project progress


General requirements


  • 4+ years of relevant business management or consulting experience in a reputable company. Example of relevant areas: strategic planning, business development, equity research, mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, strategy consulting, transaction services.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in working cross function and developing team members
  • Demonstrated project management skill, including developing a project plan, schedule, dependency identification, status reporting, and issue resolution
  • Strong presentation skills: effective in a variety of formal presentation settings and can present to an internal as well as external audience
  • At minimum, a bachelor’s degree (in Business/Finance/Accounting/Industrial Engineering or any other relevant disciplines) from a top-tier university with consistent outstanding academic record
  • Strong facilitation skills: ability to organize, plan and facilitate meetings on problem solving and decision making
  • Strong written communications: able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles and get messages across that have the desired effect
  • Advanced degree (e.g. MBA) and/or a professional qualification (e.g. CFA, CPA, CMA) is preferred
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, including ability to: create forward looking financial models (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with multiple scenarios, conduct valuation exercises to public and private companies, perform due diligence to acquisition targets, create and analyze investment memos.
