Deputy General Manager Jobs

We are seeking a passionate and experienced professional with demonstrable experience in coffee industry to join our team and lead our coffee program.

Reporting to the General Manager who is based in Singapore, the Deputy General Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the overall success and expansion of our operations. You will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of our business, including sales, marketing, operations, and team management.

This role requires a strong understanding of the coffee industry, as well as the ability to lead and accelerate the growth of our coffee business across different regions in Indonesia.

Business Development

• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and potential market segments to expand our market presence.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to enhance business partnerships.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy for the coffee business in Indonesia, in alignment with the company's overall goals.

Sales and Marketing

• Develop and implement effective sales strategies, pricing models, and promotional campaigns to attract and retain customers.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to adjust strategies accordingly.
• Assist in the expansion of our coffee operations through short assignments overseas, working closely with international partners and suppliers.
• Lead the sales and marketing teams to drive revenue growth and increase market share.

Operations Management

• Oversee the roasting process, ensuring consistent quality and flavour profiles and implement quality control measures to maintain consistency and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ensure efficient inventory management, timely production, and delivery of products to meet customer demands.
• Source high-quality coffee beans from reputable suppliers and develop relationships with coffee producers.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of both our café operations as well as our coffee business, including supply chain management, distribution, and quality control.

Team Leadership

• Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to support team members' professional growth and development.
• Build, develop, and lead a high-performing team of managers and staff members, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.

Financial Management

• Monitor key financial metrics, analyse performance data, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and expense control measures to ensure the profitability of the coffee business.

Your strategic thinking, leadership skills, and deep understanding of the coffee market will be crucial in achieving our ambitious growth targets and therefore, you are required to have the following:

• Proven experience with at least 5+ years in a senior management role within the coffee industry or a related field.
• Strong understanding of the coffee market in Indonesia, including trends, consumer behavior, and competition with a passion for delivering exceptional coffee experiences and maintaining high quality standards.
• Demonstrated success in business development, sales, and strategic planning with ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel domestically as required.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and budget management.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with demonstrable ability to train and mentor staff.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field.
• Understanding of the coffee supply chain, from sourcing and processing to production and distribution is a pre-requisite for the role.
