Role: Consultant - Consumer Insights Director– (Must be based in Jakarta Indonesia)
Status: Part-time Temporary (Remote/Hybrid)

TREBEL Music is one of the fastest growing music apps in the world, and the only licensed music service that offers on-demand and offline song play to users at no cost. TREBEL is an alternative to piracy for music listeners in emerging markets where socioeconomic factors are known to suppress the adoption of paid subscription music services, and where illegal “stream ripping” of music videos is widespread. The app is currently available in Mexico, Indonesia, Colombia, the United States, and is backed by PT MNC Investama Tbk, among other investors.
We are looking for a Consultant Part-time Digital Marketing Strategist working 10-hours a week in Indonesia. In this role, you will be responsible for brand focus and bring some experience with App Store marketing. Our team will rely on you to help on the creative to drive the conversion rate up. You will be working with both our team in Indonesia and our team in the USA. We are looking for someone that is willing to work later evenings in Indonesia to allow for contacts to the USA team during their early mornings. You will have an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on growing the TREBEL Music user base in Indonesia.
As a Consumer Insights Director consultant, you will report directly to our Country head/General Manager of Indonesia with a dotted line to the Head of Global Growth in the United States to receive the needs and strategy of the work, and the local team will be your main day-to-day contact.
- Develop hypotheses that aim to answer questions to TREBEL business challenges and validate them with sophisticated research design leveraging all appropriate channels:
- Develop a roadmap and strategy for having qualitative and quantitative research done on current, former and prospective TREBEL users
- Develop and manage the consumer insights/research/focus group strategy for the Indonesia market
- Focus Groups/Interviews - in person
- Moderated/Unmoderated digital studies
- Quantitative research (supplemental 3rd party) + internal performance data
- Surveys
- Develop and present findings related to product-market fit analysis, customer satisfaction and perception of brand and product overall
- Build upon your already existing strong understanding of the competitive music/entertainment landscape with insights on consumer sentiment to move product and brand marketing ideas forward
- Partner closely with the local brand and design teams to translate consumer sentiment into messaging and visual design strategies.
- Work with media team to develop NPS and/or brand awareness study to quantify our current baseline brand awareness and perception in the market among various user groups/segments (age, gender, geo, etc.)
- Partner closely with the product/tech teams to collaborate on research design, share/iterate frequently on findings and apply learnings to inform the product feature roadmap
What you will bring…
- Self-guided and autonomous working style in that you can develop project plans, keep them moving and timely and communicate frequently and broadly on status and findings
- Experience working with a digital business in Indonesia that has observed successful growth and brand dominance in Indonesia/SE Asia
- Analytical and Creative
- Some exposure and understanding of the music/entertainment industry and piracy landscape in ID
- A Strong POV on the methods and approaches to be implemented to answer TREBEL’s business questions
- Comfortability in cross functional project ownership (product and marketing)
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in consumer insights
- Entrepreneurial mindset with willingness and ability to “own it”
- Works fluidly in a hype-paced organization and can manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight and direction
- A keen eye for strong design language and an ability to translate a strategy into a design brief
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends from home to accommodate Pacific Time Zone USA contacts
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle multiple research modalities simultaneously
- Excellent/fluent written and spoken English (the team is English speaking)
- Proficient in survey research analysis tools, excel, and ppt
