CarDekho SEA is a part of CarDekho group India, the market leader in auto-tech business. CarDekho SEA is working to influence USD 80Bn auto financial services business across the region and has already reached to the #1 position in Indonesia. The company has regional HQ based out of Singapore and has operational presence across Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia with plans to expand in rest of the SEA.
CarDekho SEA is planning to hire AVP-Business Finance and FP&A for Indonesia to lead all aspects of finance & operations of the company.

AVP Business Finance and FP&A
An AVP Business Finance and FP&A is a finance professional who is tasked with working alongside other business functions, using strong analytical skills to advise and support decision-making through strategic insights. The role of a Finance Business Partner and FP&A is to assist in the improvement of business operations and financial performance.
To be successful in this position, it is critical for this role to have an ability to communicate their message, to understand their audience, and deliver the information in a clear and user-friendly manner. It is a mix of analytical, commercial and communication skills which are at the heart of successful business partnering and FP&A.
Business Finance Leader - KRA
- Developing clear understanding of key business drivers for each line of business, analyzing key financial metrics and providing decision making support to Business & Finance teams.
- Managing business level contribution P&L, MIS and analyzing the same for Business reviews/ presentations.
- Tracking of sales performance against set targets and providing periodic updates to business.
- Reviewing and streamlining all Business verticals from Business Finance perspective which includes business level margin analysis and budget modeling.
- Leading technology automation projects to automate the Business Finance reconciliation process.
- Acting as bridge between controllership team and business teams to enable collaboration across variety of issues
- Supporting Finance & Business Management in simulation of revenue projections and corresponding expenses including working out margin protection/improvement plans.
- Handling complex ad-hoc requests including transaction support requests with a short turnaround time and supplementing such requests with appropriate analysis and comments.
- To address any finance / tax / governance / control related queries from business stakeholders.
FP&A
- Demonstrate ability to construct long-range P&L and cash flow models and perform DCF ROI analyses
- Lead cross functional effort to coordinate and build the Consolidated Annual Operating Plan.
- Provide and manage ongoing financial support and business partnering to sales and marketing in the areas of new business opportunities, growth assessment and profitability, and customer specific performance for business partners.
- Develop and communicate the ‘story’ of monthly performance and forecasts to leadership teams.
- Perform financial analysis across the various operating levels to identify and analyze trends, variances from forecast, and variances from prior years and provide insight and counsel for corrective action up to and including execution ideas and timelines.
- Prepare presentations to Board of Directors and Senior Management Team
- Drive automation of FP&A function to move away from manual excel based FP&A reports
- Oversight of monthly and quarterly closing & reporting process for FP&A – On a monthly basis, lead the forecasting process for the business, analyze current results against forecast and budgets and provide key driver analysis and business insight. Ensure business leaders are provided insight and financial guidance to achieve short/long term financial commitments, including strategic initiatives for each of their functions.
- Drive strategic planning for all the legal entities with analysis of key drivers with previous plan and actuals.
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Arrange and facilitate workshops with functional leaders to create action plans on how to succeed with the strategy.
- Participate in target setting and ensure that both short- and long-term strategic priorities are met.
- Share best practices across the company, functions and locations.
- Communicate performance throughout the organisation to ensure one set of numbers are targeted upon rather than each function and management team making their own assumptions
- Performance management of agreed-upon actions to ensure that each action can be measured on a concrete outcome be it growth, savings and efficiencies.
- Participate in strategy and operational meetings with management to understand the direction setting of the company.
- Gather business and operational data necessary for the FP&A team and act as an intermediary between the finance and operations team.
Key Insights- Business Finance and FP&A:
- Must know the business and know Finance, inside and out. Not only does this instill trust and confidence in you from your business colleagues. It means that together you will improve the performance of the business.
- Should be connecting strategy with execution- i.e. driving major strategic or tactical initiatives such as cost savings or revenue optimisation projects.
- Must be involved in business decision making, not just as a “trusted advisor”, but as a key influencer. That is true partnership. The Finance Business Partner should be part of the management team and should contribute to discussions and decisions as an equal rather than an observer.
- Activities must pass the value-added test. Are they value-adding to the bottom line?
- Must be able to influence and challenge across the business to ensure processes and activities are geared for maximum performance.
Requirements:
- Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organisation.
- Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture.
- Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication.
- Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels.
- Experience developing financial reports and metrics.
- General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles with a focus on the automobile industry.
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree with more than 8-10 years of experience in finance or accounting working. A mix of big 4 and start-up experience would be ideal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment.
