VMware Carbon Black is hiring a Sales Executive who’s successfully worked in a quota-driven environment and is ready for a new opportunity. In this role, you’ll foster relationships with prospects to identify, develop, and close new business and expand revenue with companies and organizations through the large commercial business segment.

By analyzing billions of security events per day across the globe, VMware Carbon Black has key insights into attackers’ behaviors, enabling customers to detect, respond to and stop emerging attacks.


Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?


  • Through your leadership, you will help us grow our Security business in customers and partners from SME to enterprise and government across Indonesia.
  • Your team will deliver more proofs of concept, more responses to tenders, we will be included in more market scans, more analyst briefings and will be seen more often in the security industry and our chosen markets because of your activities and those of your team.
  • We look forward to seeing more demonstrations, public presentations, greater brand awareness and improved customer uptake of our technology.
  • Support our customers in their new multi-cloud reality by ensuring they have suitable and well-developed security solutions that enable them to move between clouds seamlessly without needing to rewrite or redevelop their security postures.


Success in the role over 6-12 months


  • Within 60 days, developing the activity that supports healthy pipeline and delivers your targets. You will be meeting customers and supporting the development of customer centric value propositions that will transform a customer’s business. You will be in the field supporting and selling VMware’s vision to your accounts with your team.
  • Within 30 days, you will be getting to know the VMware team that supports your accounts and you. You will get to understand your customers, connect with the partners who support these accounts, get onboarded to VMware’s systems and processes, and to understand and present VMware’s vision.
  • Within 90 days, you will be creating and supporting a team culture of execution and support of meeting the customer where they are at, purpose, innovative thinking, inclusiveness as well as customer centricity. You will be engaging in community and helping to develop plans for your accounts to support their future direction leveraging VMware’s vision.
  • From there you will be a key part of the sales team, facilitating collaborative engagements between partners and customers to support greater revenue streams. Helping to bring a strategic focus and best practices to support sustainable growth in your accounts. Influencing and aligning resources to support your team and your business to achieve greater outcomes for your clients. You will be developing a plan for yourself and asking VMware how we can support your career journey.


The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?


  • Design and implement competitive strategies based on past practice and knowledge of effective sales methodologies whilst creating and implementing a sales strategy aligning with regional and overall Indonesian business direction to meet set sales targets within given deadlines.
  • Establish and position VMware as a thought leader in your accounts, drive team collaboration with internal resources such as technical, marketing, and professional services to support customer needs, sales strategy, and overall business growth.
  • Leverage Value Selling sales methodology including VMware sales tools and process as amended from time to time, to communicate, report, track and manage sales opportunities.
  • Evolve engagements between partners and customers to drive incremental revenue, strong relationships and high levels of customer satisfaction whilst maintaining alignment with VMware’s vision
  • Coach and develop the virtual team to support achievement of quota and bookings
  • Align and leverages internal and external resources to resolve complex issues through collaboration with the VMware Channel community
  • Influence strategy, engagement, channel, and customer interactions.
  • Be the front-line sales lead and account manager, building, developing and managing your account base, taking responsibility for driving new business and developing the territory.
  • Regular two-way communication and review with your virtual team regarding their account strategies, forecasts, methodologies and support them through engaging the customer together.

Your direct manager is our Director of Security Sales – South-East Asia & Korea, based in Singapore. You will also gain the trust and support of local and regional peers as build a deep relationship in this matrix.


Your teammates are experienced, passionate, and technically adept, with long-standing careers in the cybersecurity industry. They come from vendors, start-ups, and corporates and believe strongly in the opportunities in the market and VMWare’s ability to claim them.

Where is this role located?


Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from the local Jakarta VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable commute of the Jakarta office.
