Join our Relief Team!
Open Sky has programs across Central Massachusetts and provides several different services including counseling services and treatment options to people facing challenges. These programs include group living environments, intensive support programs. These progr am offers staff support 24/7. Services focus on helping people to transition to more independent living while maximizing their natural supports by building skills and achieving personal goals.
The Relief Counselor supports individuals with developmental disability and or Mental Health Challenges to live as independently as possible, while providing guidance and performing various levels of assisted daily living skills. Relief Counselors act as strong advocates for individuals served, believe in the power of community and importance of community integration. Relief positions are provided with paid orientation, onboarding and various trainings.

• Provide direct support to individuals served ensuring daily living needs are met.
• Maintain a safe yet challenging atmosphere; create a supportive environment that will enhance individual growth.
• Maintain regular contact with the Relief Coordinator and Programs by responding to all Agency communication in a timely fashion.
• Assist individuals in meeting their basic health needs.
• Follow all Agency and Program specific policies and procedures including Relief Employee Expectations.
• Ensure the overall safety of program participants at all times.
• Perform crisis intervention, if necessary.
• Follow record-keeping procedures and communicate pertinent information to regular staff via written and verbal means.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Reliability, willingness to learn, and being open to new opportunities.
