Project Officer, Cities, States and Regions (Based in Indonesia) 9 Months Contract

- Are you passionate about urban and regional climate action, particularly in the Asia region?
- Would you enjoy working with local and subnational governments to support their climate change mitigation, adaptation and resilience policies and plans?
If you want to make your mark in a professional and fast paced NGO, this is the role for you. You will be supporting a capacity-building programme for cities in Asia to strengthen their climate resiliency, focused on resilience action financing and implementation. Your role will also involve encouraging general climate and environmental disclosure for local and subnational governments. You will have experience in climate change or the environmental sector, external stakeholder engagement, and workshop/event organisation.

Key responsibilities include:
- Co-delivering a capacity building programme on city-level climate adaptation/resilience action implementation and financing in Asia, including the organization of workshops and events;
- Attending relevant events and meetings with key stakeholders in Indonesia and the wider region.
- Direct engagement with local and subnational governments in Asia with a focus on Indonesia on climate change and environmental disclosure;
- Data analysis and support to regionally specific presentations and reports;
- Collaborating and communicating with the global Cities, States and Regions and operational teams to prepare for and implement disclosure-related activities in Asia;
- Growing CDP’s Cities, States and Regions work in Indonesia through new opportunities and collaborations;
Required skills and experience:
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to priorities and deliver projects on time;
- Fluency in English and Bahasa. Additional language is a plus.
- Experience in the design and organization of workshops, webinars and events;
- Experience working collaboratively with a range of teams and external stakeholders, and liaising across different time zones and cultures;
- Knowledge and interest in urban climate change adaptation and mitigation issues;
- At least 2-3 years professional experience in climate change, environment, sustainability, finance or local/regional government roles;
- Good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills;
- Competency in computer skills and proven ability to learn and become proficient in new IT systems quickly.
- Bachelor’s degree from disciplines in Environmental Management, Business Management or equivalent
Desired skills and experience:
- A working understanding of mechanisms to finance and implement city climate projects.
This is a full-time fixed contract role based in CDP’s Jakarta office reporting to the Senior Engagement Officer, States and Regions based in Jakarta and Asia Pacific Lead, Cities, States and Regions based in Hong Kong.
Salary and benefits: Competitive NGO salary, 24 days’ holiday plus public holidays(pro rata), and flexible working opportunities.
