The Cocoa Beans Procurement Manager has a strategic position in the company, he maintains a strategic and robust plan to ensure that both value and risk are managed correctly. The potential candidate is someone with good knowledge in commodities sourcing and trading, who is capable of understanding the cocoa markets, the cocoa supply chain and how the Business works.

Responsibilities

1. Establish and execute a clear strategy for sustainably sourcing Indonesia cocoa beans to meet the full needs of the local business as well as for Export.
2. Ensuring volume, price and deadlines targets are met.
3. Engage and collaborate with other functions to support the sustainable Sourcing strategy.
4. Develop and administer sourcing contracting policies, controls and procedures in accordance with stated business objectives and requirements.
5. Meet all key financial targets linked to the sourcing activity – value creation and receivables.
6. Proactively manage suppliers’ base ensuring supply with no adverse impact on the business.
7. Manage ongoing relationship with suppliers, supplier development, performance monitoring, problem resolution and issue management or escalation in a timely manner.
8. Negotiate with local suppliers to ensure optimum price/quality/service levels
9. Analyse, identify and understand supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate.
10. Develop and maintain knowledge of market conditions, trends, competition, sources of supply and supplier capabilities for cocoa beans within and outside Makassar.
11. Conduct all business dealings with the highest level of integrity and regard for legal and compliance issues.
12. Ensure compliance to all Quality Policies and GMP/Hygiene rules to establish a culture of Quality amongst the Team Ensure compliance to the Company’s code of conduct for Employees and suppliers.
13. Ensure compliance to health and safety rules to avoid workplace accidents.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of Bachelor Degree in relevant field - Marketing/ Agriculture / Management.
2. Minimum 3 years of experience in beans sourcing, commodities trading.
3. Commercially savvy.
4. Good business acumen.
5. Strong proficiency in Ms Office, especially in Ms. Excel. PowerPoint presentation
6. Business level Indonesian and English – written and spoken.
7. Good knowledge of the evolution of the cocoa market and good knowledge of financial management.
8. Strong knowledge of sourcing strategic, vendor management, budget control, and import process
9. Mastery of risk management technique.
10. Negotiation skills.
