About The Company:

We are helping our client, a global oil manufacturing company, and currently are looking for Head of Logistic (Bulk Oil) based in Medan. The main responsibility will be responsible to monitoring and ensure all logistic activities related to bulk oil shipment from the loading point to the unloading point run smoothly in a cost-effective and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Builds and maintains relationships with logistic service provider (shippingowner/shipping companies, freight companies, surveyor agencies) and other relatedparties.
• Lead negotiations for acquisition of transportation services, especially with shippingowners/shipping companies to provide efficient and timely transportation of bulk oilcargo.
• Calculate and compare shipping rates from different shipping owners/shippingcompanies to get and recommend the lowest shipping costs to keep it within budgetor reduce shipping costs.
• Co-ordination with processes and systems, related to Accident Reporting, Accidentrepairing and Insurance Claim Settlement, Assessing Damages, dealing withSurveyors for Assessment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Hiring transportation, especially barges for bulk oil shipment.
• Taking proper action in case of pilferages/shortage/theft, penalty should be impliedto the vendors.
• Completes fulfillment of shipments using cost-effective service providers.
• Monitoring the shipment activity from loading to the unloading point in order to ensurethe bulk oil cargo safely arrives in timely manner. This activity also includes installations on board, in cooperation with the assigned surveyor or field team.

Qualifications

• Has a good knowledge of loading/unloading barges and installations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in English will be anadvantage.
• Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Preferably domicile in Medan area or willing to be placed in Medan.
• Willing to travel frequently as needed (to loading point areas across Indonesia).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Ms. Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Four or five years minimum of experience in Palm Oil industry especially in bulk oillogistic is a MUST.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizing skills and attention to detail with the proven ability to manageand coordinate a variety of shipments and shipping methods.
• Has an extensive list of contact and has good network of with barge owners or bulkoil shipping companies.
• Has a good knowledge of loading points across Indonesia is a MUST.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, or related field required.
