We’re looking for a Director of Finance to join our team supporting the Hydraulic Mining Shovels manufacturing facility in Batam, Indonesia as part of the Resource Industries Operations and Products (RIOP) division at Caterpillar.

As the Finance Director, you will have the opportunity for leading the financial and business support for the Batam manufacturing facility. You will develop essential business information and provide counsel to management for all business and manufacturing planning, financial planning & analysis, new product introduction financial support, manufacturing footprint & investment analysis, and product costing. This position interacts with and presents to senior leadership as well as represents Caterpillar externally with governmental authorities. Reporting directly to the position are eight management accountants.

What You Will Do

Managing all aspects of monthly financial reporting & analysis for the Batam manufacturing facility

• Participate in strategy development to drive improved financial and operational performance and facilitate strategic business unit planning for upper-level management.
• Develop the best team through coaching, training & development, and career planning.
• Establish and communicate internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley documentation requirements to all facility personnel and ensure high integrity financial reporting through maintaining a strong control environment.
• Provide financial leadership and strategic planning, including long-term strategic development and short-term tactical planning to ensure growth and financial success for the business.
• Drive effective and strong coordination with partners across the business.
• Implement new tools and analytics to continuously improve financial analysis and business insights.
• Provide insights on the financial results of the business on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Lead financial analysis, providing business insights in the processes like target costs, cost monitoring, investment analysis, and sourcing studies.
• Lead and manage all aspects of financial analysis and planning for the Batam manufacturing facility, including the Profit & Loss, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet statements.
• Implement new tools and analytics to continuously improve business partnering.
• Manage financial reporting for local and US GAAP

What You Have

• Strong communications skills with a passion for asking questions and driving improvements
• Bachelor’s degree in an Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• 10 years of progressively responsible job-related experience
• Desire to develop and grow your career within a Fortune 100 company

• Strong background in accounting, cost accounting, investment analysis, and budget development
• Prior leadership experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions
• Strong analytical skills are required to perform detailed financial analysis and strategic plans
• Experience in driving financial performance and results through partnering with senior leadership.
