About Waste Management & Development Assistant Manager:
Job description
- Acts as the “Person in Charge” (PIC) on assigned work projects, responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Advising the council and other relevant bodies/people on the likely impact of new legislation, policies and initiatives
- Works under minimal supervision to develop, implement, and track to completion various decontamination, demolition, and other waste related projects. This position has the primary responsibility for successfully managing the project scope, safety, and schedule for all project phases for small to large size projects.
- Support Waste Management (WM) project activities in support of Company’s operation and Development Plan
- Using national (and/or innovative) waste strategy and policy to inform plans for waste collection, disposal, minimisation and recycling. As well as to develop plan from Waste into Resources
- Locating areas in which waste management is problematic (for example; where fly tipping is frequent) and devising solutions
- Implementing project management principles and demolition practices including earned value techniques for budget and schedule control
- Creating and managing budgets, and deploy them at right timing
- Talking to members of the public, internal & external employees in project, the administration and offices to identify and overcome problems with waste management
- Overseeing the transportation, operation of Waste Management and Development in the Company and to its relating partners, to ensure the accuracy of briefs, and to prevent contamination – of air, land or water
- Liaise with different department’s project lead, HSE and relevant people/ government bodies
- Preparing the design specifications, project implementation estimating costs, cost control, and managing the decontamination and/or demolition of structures and systems
- Planning of Development of Waste into Resource based on the Company’s environmental guideline
- Ensuring waste management schemes are implemented effectively and legal requirements are upheld
Confirms that all preparations have been completed, such as notification, permits, approvals, and training.
Conduct a pre-job brief with the front line work force.
Provide on-the-job oversight, resolve issues, and collect feedback during the work.
Conduct post-job briefs upon project completion.
Position Requirements
- Demonstrated skill in team building as well as working effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Skilled in providing technical direction, having ability to oversee and manage processes and people. Capacity to grasp and apply legislation. Having Strong organizational skills, Decision-making skills, Analytical skills
- Ability to lead, evaluate, support, and develop a team.
- Ability to model Core Values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork.
- English and Indonesian proficient
- Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of related work experience. Having interest in and understanding of environmental and sustainability policies
- Excellent management and supervision skills. Able to communicate with, explain ideas to and motivate others
- Familiarity in knowledge of Waste Management principles, practices, codes, and standards
- Having B3 (Hazardous Waste Certification)- Preferably
- Perform other job duties as assigned by management.
- Verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels both within and external to the organization.
