Coal Fired Power Plant Operation Manager

Role & Responsibilities

• Monitors plant and unit performance, conducts root cause analysis, and leads investigations to develop corrective actions
• Coordinates emergency response efforts
• Manages the production budget for assigned plant and facility
• Ensures proper training is being provided to Plant Operators
• Manages activities associated with the staffing of the Production Department
• Responsible for all plant equipment and operations.
• Recognizes problems and is proactive in helping to resolve them
• Provides leadership, direction and feedback in the management of employee performance, discipline, morale and employee relations
• Provides leadership to promote safe operations and maintenance
• Promotes productivity and teamwork in Operations with open communication, timely decision making, and use of personal leadership skills to set high standards of performance
• Prioritizes maintenance direction for optimal plant availability/operation
• Coordinates unit load scheduling, testing, status, outage plans with management and offtaker PLN
• Performs field inspections of job sites
• Maintains communications with other departments
• Actively supports and emphasizes importance of safety programs and ensures regulatory compliance
• Develops and implements operational policies & procedures

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
• Strong industry knowledge/experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a supervisory role in a coal-fired power plant, or related industry
• Strong organizational skills and capability of handling multiple assignments
• Strong analytical skills
• Operated coal fired power plant with at least 300MW above.
