Thermal Coal Sourcing Lead

Purpose of role:

• Supervise and execute contract terms as well as negotiating with miners and traders (Indonesia, Australian, South African, US) as required to successfully execute the contract terms
• Build and maintain strong business relationships with suppliers, traders, inspection agencies and agents
• Work actively to grow and develop the supplier base

Responsibilities:

• Engage in weekly market fundamentals and analytics discussions internally to help develop nearby and forward trading strategies
• Supervise and execute contract terms as well as negotiating with miners and traders as required to successfully execute the contract terms
• Develop suppliers and source coal for trading desk and internal consumption
• Manage relationships with suppliers, buyers, inspection agencies, vessel agents and other stakeholders

Requirements:

• More than 5 years work experience ars work experience in Thermal Coal Sourcing with focus on origination of US/ South African/ Australian/ Indonesia coal and shipping bulk cargo
• Good conceptual and analytical skills
• Excellent understanding of relevant RBCT loading/ New Castle Port loading / Indonesian Coal Export policies and procedures regulation and procedures
• Good network with major Thermal Coal Miners and Inspection Agencies in coal industry and deep understanding of coal from each of these origins and the applicability of the various qualities
