Renoir Consulting’s growing ESG practice aims to support corporations across all industries through their entire ESG transformation journey including the monetisation carbon credits and building offset programs. Our objective is to be our clients’ preferred ESG consulting partner and contribute to their ability to generate sustainable value to all their key stakeholders.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
We seek an individual that will immediately contribute to our growing global ESG practice, and specifically to our carbon credit consulting, deliver world-class services and work to continuously exceed clients’ expectations and help them reach their decarbonisation objectives and become sustainability leaders.
In this role, you will join our ESG practice as a Director/Partner to build market presence, opportunity pipeline, revenues and deliver on Carbon Credit consulting and transformation projects. You will work alongside clients to define, develop, and execute programs that transform their business by developing for them the optimal structure and programs to monetise carbon credits that they can issue as well as to implement successful offsetting projects.
YOU WILL HAVE:
- Perform reduction calculations.
- Conduct site visits and manage stakeholder engagements.
- Certification Support
- Expertise in carbon credit projects, strong project management skills, stakeholder management abilities, analytical proficiency and up-to-date knowledge of international carbon markets.

- Develop work plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Stay up to date with international carbon market developments.
- Requirements include:
- Verify project descriptions, register carbon credits, and facilitate transactions.
- Conduct research and cross-check qualifications under carbon standards.
- Perform technical assessments and estimate emission reductions.
- Draft agreements related to project sourcing.
- Ensure conformity of Project Design Documents (PDD) with actual project conditions.
- Evaluate additionality, leakage, eligibility, and methodology.
- Determine emissions baselines and conduct surveys.
- Ensure project details conform to Carbon Credit Principles.
- Provide support and clarification during the validation/determination process.
- Assess additionality and prepare reports and presentations.
- Undertake field missions to consult with project proponents and key stakeholders.
- Respond to clarification questions.
- Keep abreast of global climate policy changes.
- Proactively network with relevant organisations, including technology providers, multilaterals, public and private entities, and government agencies.
- Solicit potential carbon offset buyers.
- Assemble information, develop, and finalise Project Description Documents.
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal team members, project owners, clients, verification bodies, and stakeholders.
- Monitoring and Verification.
- Prepare project profitability and cash flow projections.
- Incorporate outcomes and input from stakeholder consultations into the PDD.
- Develop and maintain a network of project developers, verification bodies, and standard bodies.
- Develop and implement a monitoring plan.
- Schedule technical reviews and quality checks.
- Field Operations and Documentation
- Conduct carbon feasibility studies.
- Create supporting documents for project registration and issuance of Project Design Documents and other required documentation.
- Conduct validation, monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) activities under the applicable carbon standard (e.g., Gold Standard, Verra's VCS).
- Project Sourcing and Evaluation.
- Lead the definition and planning of project certification requirements.

YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE:
- Bachelor's or (preferably) Master’s degree in environmental sciences, Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering, Economics, or related disciplines.
- Ability to work and handle a diverse portfolio of projects simultaneously.
- Excellent knowledge of international carbon standards and principles, along with familiarity with common carbon methodologies.
- Up-to-date knowledge of international carbon market developments and (inter-)national environmental and climate policies.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in carbon credit development, with a strong track record in writing Project Design Documents (PDD) and managing projects through the carbon project cycle.
- Analytical, creative thinking, assertiveness, motivation, and ability to perform under tight deadlines.
- Ability to be adaptable, flexible, and deal with ambiguity positively.
- Attention to detail and ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Commercial acumen, business sense and a target-driven mindset to identify and seize opportunities in a challenging and competitive market environment.
- Familiarity with the voluntary carbon market, including understanding of its pricing mechanisms, market dynamics, and future outlook.
- Strong consulting and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong technical understanding of forestry, renewable energy, waste, and industrial sectors, enabling the identification of opportunities in the carbon market and climate change field.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively and make an immediate contribution.
- Ability to move from project to project with ease and reprioritise regularly.
- Deep understanding of various carbon verifiers and registers, including knowledge of their specific requirements, procedures, and documentation processes.
