POSITION DETAIL

Position Title: Western Indonesia Project Manager

Location: Home-based but preferably in Jakarta, Surabaya, or Denpasar

Position Type: Mid-level Consultant

Work Nature: Project-based

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

BACKGROUND OF THE ORGANIZATION

QED-Research Consulting is an Indonesia-based development management, implementation, and monitoring-evaluation consultancy firm. Our focus is on inclusive economic development, GEDSI, health, emergencies responses, impact investment, sustainable energy, increased employment, youth empowerment, agriculture, urban and rural poverty, and industrial development. QED also has experiences working for different organizations in Zambia and Australia.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Under the general direction of Chief Operating Officer, the project manager will be responsible for leading research process for different assignments, which include but are not limited to designing research methodology for both quantitative and qualitative research, being involved in comprehensive discussions with clients, and executing the data collection process.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop a research design that includes but is not limited to a sampling plan, data collection instruments (questionnaire, interview guide, observation form, etc), data collection detailed work plan, etc.
2. Recruit and train field supervisors and enumerators with high-quality standards.
3. Lead the data collection implementation as well as ensure the target is achieved.
4. Assure the data collection process meets the client’s and QED standard quality.
5. Understand and implement gender sensitivity perspective as well as safeguarding policy.
6. Ensure the data collection process is cost-efficient.
7. Involve and contribute to the discussion with the data analyst team.
8. Establish and/or maintain regular communication with the client and its partners if necessary.
9. Read relevant documents related to research activities.
10. Prepare periodic progress reports during the implementation.
11. Keep core team members aware of the latest progress.
12. Other tasks as reasonably requested by the COO.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

• Women, People with Disabilities, and Marginalized groups are encouraged to apply
• Minimum 3 years of experience in leading data collection in social research, or involvement in business consultancy, or other relevant experiences.
• Strong analytical mind and a flair for both quantitative and qualitative data;
• Willingness and availability to travel across Indonesia is a must.
• Excellent leadership skills are a must.
• Strong communicator and interpersonal to be able to work with multiple stakeholders.
• Efficient in planning and execution of data collection
• Fluency in English is desirable.
• Possess a strong network with enumerators across Indonesia.
• Possessing Car and Motorbike Driving License as well as the ability to drive and/or ride
• Knowledge and practical skills in research methodology, especially in drawing sampling, designing questionnaires/interview guide and developing detailed data collection work plans.
• Willingness to learn a different approach.
• At least a bachelor's degree in development studies, social sciences, anthropology, agriculture/aquaculture, economics, business administration, communication science, or a similar discipline.
