JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
Identify training needs, prepare modules, conduct training sessions, maintain records and review training material in order to make sure that all personnel receive necessary training and that the material stays up-to-date and meets all mandatory criteria.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Training Process
- Assist in developing training materials as required to meet Q-Chem Department specific training needs.
- Schedule training sessions to ensure that all personnel receive mandatory trainings with minimal interruptions in the routine operations of the company.
- Coordinate with operators, laboratory personnel, supervisors, and department managers to identify training needs, training materials, and mandatory topics for different types of training (NEO/GOT training, job specific training, operator training, refresher training etc.) in order to ensure that these trainings meet the key requirements such as company policies and OSHA requirements.
Training Modules and Sessions
- Store these modules and manuals at appropriate locations to ensure all the concerned people have access to them.
- Conduct training as required to ensure that personnel are trained in areas relevant to their jobs.
- Prepare training modules and OJT workbook manuals for each area to make sure that training sessions cover all key topics.
Follow-up / Maintain Training Records
- Ensure that all the required personnel have valid certifications.
- Ensure employees and baseload contractors complete mandatory training as required by GTM and DTM’s.
- Update Lead Technical Trainer on training needs and training metrics.
- Maintain training records and update the Certification Validity System to ensure that all the required personnel have valid certificates, all existing employees complete compliance training, and all new employees receive the mandatory NEO/GOT trainings.
- Monitor and update Department Leadership on status of compliance and certification training.
Training Material Review
- Review and update Qatarization TP Unit course assignment and observation contents.
- Review training modules and OJT workbook manuals periodically, conduct review committee meetings and prepare SOP/EOP review schedule to ensure that these documents stay up-to-date.
- Verify accuracy of GTM training courses with respective KBD owner.
- Verify the reviewed SOP/EOP and upload in ECM after approval to ensure access of all relevant personnel to these documents.
Quality, Health, Security, Safety and Environment
- Comply with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across the company to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high quality products/services.
Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures
- Implement all relevant Section’s policies, processes, procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Provide critical input to support the development of Section’s systems, policies, processes, and procedures in order to meet business requirements.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of departmental systems, policies, processes and practices taking into account ‘international leading practices’ in order to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
Reporting
§ Prepare relevant reports in a timely and accurate manner in order to meet the departmental requirements, policies and standards.
- Follow up with the concerned Departments to make sure all their employees attend mandatory trainings and keep the training team updated on training needs and the progress of operator training.
Qatarization
Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is applicable to expatriate employees only.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
Required: bachelor's degree in science or bachelor's in engineering.
Experience
Required: 5-7 years of experience in Petrochemicals Industry, out of which 2-3 years at a Specialist/Professional level in the Maintenance Dept.
Preferred: Experience in Petrochemicals Industry and Technical Training
Other Job Specific Requirements and/or Vocational Accreditations
- Advanced knowledge of materials
- Ability to coach and mentor personnel
- Advanced knowledge of plant operations
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Basic proficiency in SAP
Languages
Required: English – proficient
Preferred: Arabic - working knowledge
