Software Engineer, Financial Reconciliation Systems

About The Role

• We are seeking a Software Engineer with a strong background in backend development and experience working with financial data and systems.
• In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our financial reconciliation system, coaching and mentoring your team, and introducing software engineering best practices.

What you'll do

• Drive the development of our backend financial reconciliation system, processing massive amounts of financial data from various business units and identifying discrepancies.
• Collaborate with the finance department to build and maintain tools that support their needs and workflows.
• Participate in code implementation, code reviews, backlog grooming, and sprint plannings.
• Ensure overall availability and reliability of the system through robust monitoring and maintenance.
• Provide feedback on architecture, assist in making data-driven decisions, and design systems in a clean, maintainable and scalable way

What we're looking for in you

• 3+ years of relevant backend engineering experience, preferably with languages and frameworks such as Golang or Ruby on Rails.
• Expertise in SQL and database design, with experience handling large datasets.
• Good written and spoken English, with strong communication skills.
• Proven understanding of system design and experience building systems from scratch.
• Deep knowledge of RESTful APIs and proficiency with Git.

Nice to haves

• Interest or experience in financial systems, security, and financial crime prevention.
• Background in payments, retail, or consumer financial services.
• Ability to read and write frontend code, with experience in relevant technologies.
