Job Description

Vice President of Business and Commerce will report to Marketing Director


Vice President of Business and Commerce will responsible to driving our efforts to bring partner sourced value to our Consumer and Commercial customers via card benefits, surprise and delight offers, gifting and short-term offers. This role will innovate on the sell-in process, help develop the go-to-market strategy, support back-end partner integration and work to define our partner engagement model.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of new business development for loyalty initiatives, including piloting Merchant Offers through our Perks platform and gifting programs
  • Lead relationships post-launch and support key existing partnerships as needed
  • Lead and develop an impactful team
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with executive leaders and business partners to define, launch, and drive all new initiatives
  • Drive complex negotiations with new and existing merchants to deliver value to our partners, Card Members and shareholders
  • Lead the development, sell-in, negotiation, and drive the go-to-market strategy for merchant funded card benefits and loyalty initiatives


Key Requirements:

  • Strategic approach to look beyond business as usual and uncover new growth opportunities and meet business needs; Keen attention to detail with the ability to think end-to-end
  • Experience in the payments loyalty space and leading and developing impactful teams
  • Experience with complex negotiations, strong grasp of product economics, industry economics, profitability levers, and effectively communicating the value of American Express
  • Experienced, consultative relationship developer with proven track record to learn quickly, develop strong client relationships and deliver on product needs in compressed timelines
  • Strong analytical, business & financial competence with ability to develop and evaluate financial models
  • Ability to build strong relationships, influence, and partner effectively with cross-functional teams
  • At least more than Ten years of relevant experience in Business management / Commerce
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to lead and influence senior level / client decisions and drive results
