Summary


VONG Kitchen is a concept by o ne of New York's most celebrated Michelin stars chefs - Jean-Georges Vongerichten and his son, Cedric Vongerichten. With a lively night bar, the restaurant seeks to attract a mix of celebrities, socialites, and movers and shakers in the business world, while serving seasonal and signature dishes of Cedric Vongerichten for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Hidden behind lush greenery you can seat on the terrace. This oasis features a magnificent lounge reminiscent of the most luxurious outdoor patios in the world.


You will be responsible for all culinary dishes prepared in the Vong Kitchen section of the kitchen. As a specialist Sous Chef, you are knowledgeable of your area of expertise and of culinary functions in general. You take great pride in preparing meals of the highest quality for the enjoyment of guests. You are well-organized and able to work in a high-pressure environment. You display leadership qualities and take the time to ensure that the chefs in your section are well-trained in all aspects of the menu and safe food handling.


Qualifications


The successful candidate will meet the following criteria,


  • A passion for great food!
  • Good knowledge of HACCP best practices
  • Previous experience in high quality cuisine at Sous or Junior Sous Chef level
  • Culinary qualification
  • Leadership and communication skills
