Solutions Engineer – Apac Jobs

A unique opportunity as a Solutions Engineer – APAC to join an ultra-modern, cloud-native location intelligence platform, based in APAC (remote).

The successful candidate will be an experienced Solution Engineer that is both technical and creative and thrives in solving new and complex problems. An open mindset is required to continuously sharpen your technical skills and learn the latest technologies to facilitate customers in their use of advanced geospatial technology to solve a wide range of their problems and use cases.

The position is fully remote in APAC.

Responsibilities

• Discover what a customer wants to accomplish and will define how it can be achieved with a geospatial solution
• Position a unique value proposition and competitive differentiators in competitive procurement processes
• Design architectures for proposed solutions for use cases such as Site Selection, Territory Planning, Geomarketing, or Market Analysis
• Develop proofs of concept and small applications using the platform
• Work closely with the Sales team, helping them understand customer’s challenges, building a vision for a solution that solves a business problem, enabling the team, and organising internal resources to deliver a winning proposal
• Communicate effectively in both technical and business discussions, with both technology users and executive-level decision makers
• Transform requirements into a functional scope and economic proposal both for the SaaS platform and professional services

Qualifications

• A BSc degree (or equivalent) in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics etc.
• Ability to develop applications in HTML/CSS and Javascript (bonus points for React with Redux), and perform data analysis using SQL/Python (it’s okay if you are stronger in one or the other, but a willingness to learn both is key!)
• Hands-on or knowledge of major cloud platforms such as GCP (BigQuery), Databricks, Snowflake, Amazon Web Services (Redshift), etc.
• Experience working on solution-oriented apps using a wide range of technologies such as Python, Javascript, PostGIS, SQL, APIs, and more
• Ideally, 3 or more years of expertise in GIS consultancy using any mix of geospatial technology and tools
• A positive mindset. You’re motivated with a sense of urgency in executing and delivering growth. You run quickly with little supervision
• An optimistic, data-driven, smart, and eager to learn outlook
• Strong knowledge and experience working with geospatial technology and tools, particularly open source tools and libraries
• A collaborative work style that can thrive in a flexible, fluid operating environment
