A Sales Manager (Commercial Vehicles - Mining) job has opened up to lead and drive sales operations for a multinational truck and heavy equipment company specialising in serving the mining industry.


About The Sales Manager (Commercial Vehicles - Mining) Role


The Sales Manager (Commercial Vehicles - Mining) role is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, fostering customer relationships, and achieving sales targets within the designated area.


Key Responsibilities


  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports detailing sales activities, analyse market trends, and present insights to senior management for informed decision-making
  • Dealer Support: Regularly visit dealerships to monitor performance, address concerns, and maintain positive relations with fleet customers
  • Distribution Channels: Identify and develop new distribution channels that align with our product offerings, expanding our market reach effectively
  • Business Development: Collaborate with the leasing team to identify and explore potential business opportunities, fostering growth and expanding our market presence
  • Sales Strategy: Lead and oversee sales operations within the designated area, formulating innovative strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets
  • Customer Relations: Establish and nurture strong relationships with fleet customers, ensuring their satisfaction, retention, and ongoing business partnerships
  • Supervisory Reporting: Generate weekly sales activity reports, highlighting progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement, and present them to the immediate supervisor
  • Innovative Programmes: Develop creative programs and initiatives to enhance sales performance, increase brand visibility, and maximise revenue generation


To be successful in this Sales Manager (Commercial Vehicles - Mining) role, you will need a deep understanding of heavy equipment catering to the mining industry, exceptional sales skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams.


Key Requirements


  • Exceptional sales and negotiation skills, with a demonstrable history of consistently achieving and surpassing sales targets
  • Proven ability to identify potential customers, generate leads, and convert them into successful sales deals
  • Established relationships within the Mining industry, including coal mining, to leverage networks and drive business growth
  • Familiarity with competitors' products and pricing strategies to effectively position our offerings in the market
  • Prior experience in the Truck, Mining, or Heavy Equipment industry is mandatory for this role
  • A minimum of six years' proven sales experience, showcasing a successful track record in sales
  • Strong understanding of the truck distribution industry, encompassing various truck types, industry trends, and customer preferences
