Position summary:
The International Volunteer at USAM Foundation plays a critical role in managing and coordinating the organization's international volunteer program. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a passion for engaging volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
1. Volunteer Program Management:
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit and engage international volunteers.
- Create volunteer position descriptions and coordinate the selection process.
- Provide orientation, training, and ongoing support to volunteers.
- Develop and maintain a volunteer database and tracking system.
2. Volunteer Engagement and Recognition:
- Foster a positive and inclusive volunteer culture within the organization.
- Regularly communicate with volunteers, providing updates and relevant information.
- Recognize and appreciate volunteers' contributions through various appreciation initiatives.
- Organize volunteer appreciation events and celebrations.
3. Collaboration and Partnership:
- Collaborate with other departments to identify volunteer needs and opportunities.
- Establish partnerships with international organizations to expand the volunteer network.
- Coordinate volunteer involvement in specific projects or initiatives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations to facilitate volunteer placements.
4. Training and Development:
- Organize and facilitate training sessions for volunteers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Provide resources and materials to support volunteer learning and development.
- Offer ongoing guidance and support to volunteers, ensuring their growth and engagement.
5. Program Evaluation and Reporting:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the international volunteer program.
- Collect and analyze volunteer feedback to improve program quality.
- Prepare regular reports on volunteer activities, achievements, and impact.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in volunteer management or coordination.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
- Proficiency in English (additional language skills are a plus).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Passion for community engagement and volunteerism.
