An outstanding opportunity has now become available as we are looking for our Head of Brand Protection (BP), covering our business in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand and occasionally in other jurisdictions. The role reports directly to the Managing Director and is based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The Head of BP is responsible for leading and developing a team with activities both in the field and in the office. Brand Protection deals mainly with market surveys and investigations into adverse activities such as counterfeiting, trademark violations, parallel trading, and enforcement through collaboration with Law Enforcement Agencies.
The Head of BP determines the methodologies to be used for investigation cases varying in nature and complexity. The Head of BP plans, develops and implements programs so that the operational activities of the department run efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include:
Case Management

• Supervise implementation of brand protection cases
• Manage team towards successful completion of cases
• Represent the company towards clients and law enforcement
• Define methodologies

Development of department

• Capacity building
• Elaborate an annual program with quarterly objectives and targets
• Development of new services and operational brand protection tools
• Report to MD on quarterly achievements

Development of team members

• Team Management
• Recruitment
• Performance management

Support function to Sales & Marketing department

• Provide advice on the technical issues during the meeting with existing or potential clients
• Provide content for the newsletter
• Acting as source of technical expertise to support Sales Team
• Actively explore market opportunities

Requirements
The requirements for this role are:

• Proficiency in English, written and spoken
• High degree of integrity and strong ethics
• Strong team leadership skills
• Adept at both field and office-based investigations
• Organizational capability
• Able to inspire and motivate a large team
• Knows how to write clear, concise and compelling investigation reports
• At least 6 years professional experience
• Good understanding of Intellectual Property laws and regulations
• Communication across the company and across cultures
• Bachelor degree or higher, in a relevant discipline or field
• Planning mindset
