Mission Statement

Reviewing customer RFQ’s and proposing optimized solution for the Microgrid, BESS and automation system in terms of time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction. Responsibility to provide the optimized cost for the technical solution defined for each opportunity. Responsible to prepare and submit quality offer following internal process and meeting customer expectations. Support the function head in achieving targets and coordinate with sales, tendering and projects team for customer interface.

Main Accountabilities

• Ensure the bids are professional, targeted, concise and successful with the aim of driving continuous improvements. Responsible for timely completion of technical bid with correctness and quality of engineering deliverables of the project.
• Coordinate with key technological partners to provide unified and compliant design to end customer.
• Collaborate with colleagues and peers to establish best practices in the bid process. Establish, maintain and develop internal commercial and technical relations with the factories and their representatives, locally and internationally.
• Ensures the optimization of the bid design in terms of cost and customer requests, in accordance with HITACHI ENERGY technical standards.
• Ownership of complete techno commercial bid. Analyzes customer specifications in order to have a clear picture of its requests and to prepare a reliable technical solution for the bid.
• Understand customer needs and work with the MicroGrid Engineering and the bid responsible to determine the most ideal customer solution.
• Develops a bid design containing as much as possible technical solutions already developed in previous orders in order to reduce engineering time and risk.
• Formulate new functionality requests to R&D when necessary. Preparation of the DOW in collaboration with the sales and other business units.

• Initiate Technical Tender meetings with the Engineering. Takes lead in solving any bid design issue with the engineering team, the R&D team and the Sales team.
• Perform homer simulations to arrive at optimal equipment sizing and configuration. Responsible for the preparation of the conceptual design of the bid including technical lay-out, preliminary Bill of Quantities (BoQ), relevant equipment descriptions and MicroGrid system technical bid description and definition in collaboration with the other HITACHI ENERGY unit bid responsible.
• Prepare concept proposal on possible MG business cases and presentation to customer, if required.
• Adhere to the HITACHI ENERGY tendering process, templates and instructions. Foster pro-activeness, creativeness and sense of urgency among colleagues
• Using commercially available tools, simulate energy flows in the Microgrid to define required system sizing. Make use of HITACHI ENERGY internal tools to dimension stabilization solutions.
• Estimate and mitigate risks during the tendering. Preparation of Risk Review meetings when applicable. Establish an adequate sales repeatable process in his/her field of responsibility to ensure improvements.

Knowledge, Skills And Experiences

• Capability to drive the electrical and control design engineering specification of the project independently Excellent level of English required.
• Approx. 5 years’ experience in electrical system tendering functions handling large system tenders.
• Product knowledge of HITACHI ENERGY Grid edge solutions products & systems – e-mesh Control Platform.
• Coordination skills within a multinational company. Experience coordinating and cooperating with colleagues from multiple countries and with multicultural backgrounds.
• Communications & Presentation skills
• Excellent knowledge & understanding of electrical systems including battery systems plus excellent knowledge and understanding of electrical process control and power systems in general.
• Tendering experience (Bids and proposals) as tender lead including involvement contract negotiations, customer discussions.
• Engineering – Bachelors or Masters in Electricals
