Data Analyst Senior Lead

About The Role

As our Lead Data Analyst, you’ll be part of GoTo’s Enterprise Data Team that manages the Enterprise Data Warehouse as the Central repository of data for all Enterprise Functions which includes Finance, Accounting, Tax (FAT), HR, Corporate Planning, ESG, Procurement etc. This team is responsible for producing and managing GoTo’s critical Financial / Corporate reports. You’ll work as the Business Partner for these functions to enable some of these key processes. You’ll have ample opportunity to flex your SQL and Python programming skills, streamlining and automating various corporate planning and financial operations.

Your primary responsibilities includes:

• Build the Analytics eco-system to help decision-makers throughout the company make better and more quantifiable decisions
• Develop data automation for data collection, analysis, output to support BAU for Busness
• Ensure access to clean and usable data for stakeholders throughout the company.
• Research opportunities for new uses cases
• Help the Users and stakeholders realize a data-informed culture
• Collaborate with Data and IT team members in enhancing the data platform
• Manages a large pool of Data Analysts supporting various Clusters / OpCo and Functions of GoTo;
• Implement best practices in data model & SQL using knowledge of GoTo’s Business Functions
• Become the “Data Advisor” for business team and making an impact storytelling with data by summarizing, profiling, sampling and analyzing terabytes of data
• Develop code and scripts using SQL and Python programming
• Follow Organization standards for data quality, security, access
• Own the Project Development and Delivery of Enterprise DWH, which encompasses the following activities at large:
• Provide inputs to Data Engineering teams on requirements to support data
• Responsible to develop and manage the Enterprise Data Warehouse of GoTo
• Build highly insightful data analytics, reports and dashboards
• Understand a Business Problem and identify a Data Analytics Solution
• Thorough Data Validation and correctness, identify data quality checks and propose improvements
• Define the e-2-e flow of data to derive the Business Solution
• Find new opportunities to put our data to work in service of business teams without compromising privacy or security;
• Represent data-related opportunities to GoTo as a member of our Extended Leadership Team

What Will you Do

• Resolves conflicts and manage issues in between a team of data engineers and other departments
• Mentor the team in their approaches in analytics problem-solving, as well as soft skills
• Identify, analyze, and interpret patterns in complex data sets to investigate issues, find root causes, and propose solutions
• Understand business requirements from users, analyze these findings, and and define the data solutions
• Manage large team of data engineers across multiple Clusters / OpCos
• Analyse current subordinates performances through KPIs and metrics, then develop methodologies to improve KPIs in the workforce procedures.
• Follow data governance and security guidelines
• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
• Identify opportunities for automation, efficient data collection, smarter analytics, enhanced visualization and other technical strategies to optimize reporting efficiency and quality
• Presenting crafted solutions and proposals to stakeholders and analysts teams
• Builds a collaborative culture in the data engineer team
• Create and maintain optimal data analysis scripts
• Ensures team of data engineers utilizes diverse perspectives in developing solutions
• Lead them into the optimal problem solving direction through critical analysis and evaluation of problems in hand

What you Will Need

Technical:

• Database (Relational & NoSQL): BigQuery, MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc
• In-depth understanding of database structure principles, data warehousing, data mining concepts
• Hands on experience in SQL, programming, relational databases, query authoring (SQL)
• Passionate and knowledgeable about big data stacks, have experience in following software/tools:
• Data pipeline and workflow management tools: Airflow, etc.
• We are looking for a candidate with 6+ years of experience in a Data Analytics role, who has attained a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, Mathematics or another quantitative field.
• 3+ Experience with cloud computing platform (GCP preferred) and UNIX environment

Architecture & Domain:

• Knowledge of best practices with regards to SDLC, Agile methodology
• Experience in large data analytics solutions, previous experience with setting and executing technology strategies for BI and Data Analytics
• Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to solve data related issues, identify opportunities for improvement
• Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements
• Able to partner with senior business stakeholders to understand information needs and translate into solutions
• Experience in manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
• Exposure working in Enterprise Function, Finance and accounting processes is highly desirable
