Position Overview:
The Construction Director is responsible for overseeing the management of 200 projects within the organization. They lead a team of professionals, including construction site monitoring consultants, assistant construction site supervisors, specialized electrical and plumbing assistants, construction site supervisors, finishing controllers, a finishing team manager, a team for prioritized issue resolution, and a renovation team. The Construction Director ensures the successful execution of projects, adherence to quality standards, and efficient utilization of resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee the overall management of 200 construction projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and consultants, to define project objectives, requirements, and deliverables. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Team Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a diverse team of construction professionals, including site monitoring consultants, assistant site supervisors, specialized assistants, site supervisors, finishing controllers, a finishing team manager, a prioritized issue resolution team, and a renovation team. Assign roles and responsibilities, set performance objectives, and provide guidance and support to ensure the team's effectiveness and productivity. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting professional development and continuous improvement.
- Construction Site Monitoring: Oversee the work of construction site monitoring consultants, ensuring adherence to quality standards, specifications, and safety regulations. Review monitoring reports, inspect construction sites, and provide guidance to address any deviations or non-compliance. Collaborate with consultants to ensure efficient coordination among project teams and timely issue resolution.
- Construction Site Supervision: Supervise the work of construction site supervisors, ensuring effective coordination of activities, resource management, and adherence to project plans. Monitor construction progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement measures to maintain project schedules. Collaborate with site supervisors to address technical issues, manage subcontractors, and ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Finishing and Quality Control: Oversee the finishing controllers and team manager, ensuring the timely completion of finishing works and adherence to quality standards. Coordinate with the team to conduct quality inspections, address deficiencies, and ensure client satisfaction. Implement effective quality control processes to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards. - Prioritized Issue Resolution: Manage the prioritized issue resolution team, which handles projects with critical problems requiring immediate attention. Assess issues, develop action plans, and coordinate resources to resolve problems efficiently. Communicate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to address concerns and provide effective solutions.
- Prioritized worksite Manage the most needed worksite which handles projects with critical problems of progress and requiring immediate attention. Assess issues, develop action plans, and coordinate resources to found new team or new way to take over the project Communicate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to address concerns and provide effective solutions.
- Renovation Team Management: Supervise the renovation team, responsible for renovating existing structures and buildings. Coordinate with BSH, engineers, and subcontractors to develop renovation plans and oversee their implementation. Ensure compliance with renovation specifications, budgets, and timelines.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities. Foster effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Address stakeholder concerns, resolve conflicts, and ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
- Strong leadership andmanagement skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse team. In-depth knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and regulations.
- Extensive experience in construction project management, overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Experience in renovation projects is advantageous
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Financial acumen for budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation. Knowledge of quality control and assurance processes.
