As Indonesia’s first pediatric palliative care service, we provide palliative care - a specialized form of medical care - for children from marginalized communities living with serious and life-limiting illnesses, such as cancer and HIV, at free of charge.

COMMUNICATIONS & FUNDRAISING OFFICER

As a Communications & Fundraising Officer, you will have the opportunity to contribute your skills towards positive social change in Indonesia, impacting the lives of the seriously-ill children to help them live free from pain, with joy and dignity that every child deserves.

You will be part of a team that spearhead the communications and fundraising activities with Rachel House’s diverse and expanding national and international networks. The responsibilities of the role include:

Communications:

• Coordination: Acting as the focal point for internal and external communications.

• Social Media: Manage Rachel House’s social media channels, prepare content, develop and implement strategies to increase engagement with Rachel House’s online community.

• Website: Maintain Rachel House website on a regular basis.

• Communication Materials: Design and develop materials for effective communication, for fundraising and advocacy purposes.

• Media Engagement: Work closely with the team to liaise and interact with media outlets, as required.

• Translation: Bahasa Indonesia English.

Fundraising:

• Fundraising: Work closely with the team to design, coordinate, launch fundraising campaigns.

• Business Development: Build relationships with existing and potential donors, assist in preparations of presentations and grant proposals, conduct desktop research for fundraising opportunities.

• Donor Relations: Maintain relationships with donors and companies, assist in the preparation of reports, communication materials and infographics.

• Events: Events planning and coordination, represent Rachel House at events, bazaars, including events in schools and universities.

Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience

1) A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in communications, public relations, digital marketing, and/or social media. Fresh graduate with internship experience is also welcome to apply.

2) Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, International Relations, or related field major is preferred.

3) Good command of English language, both written and spoken, is essential.

4) Excellent writing skills (i.e. for articles, social media content).

5) Passion for, and expertise in, social and digital media.

6) Proficiency with design tools and software, such as Canva.

7) Event management skill (online and offline).

8) Attention to details, have initiative, with willingness to learn and passion for getting jobs done to the highest standard.

9) Able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, work independently with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will be offered a 2-years initial contract, with the opportunity to convert to permanent position upon satisfactory performance at the end of the contract term.
