Senior Manager, Production (Seaweed)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Seaweed Production Senior Manager to oversee all aspects of seaweed processing and extraction operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of seaweed biology and ecology, as well as expertise in the various techniques and technologies used to extract valuable compounds from seaweed.

The incumbent shall assist in planning and setting up of Seaweed processing facility and continuous improvement of seaweed extraction yield and quality. He / she shall also assist in executing direction, strategy, planning, and delivery of the company’s product lines and deliverance.

The role shall oversee production, manage, plan, delegate, and ensure productivity and actualize production plans are maintained at optimum level.

Responsibilities :

• Implement and monitor quality assurance procedures to ensure good quality and production yield.
• Implement systems, policies, and standard procedures on production activities to ensure consistency in high yield in accordance to agreed standard.
• Enforce and comply with all workplaces, health, and safety regulations.
• Work closely with research and development team to identify new opportunities for product development and innovation.
• Maintain detailed records of all seaweed extraction operations, including harvest yields, processing times, and quality metrics.
• Ensure the best use of resources and infrastructure for profitable and sustainability of the Seaweed business.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive seaweed harvesting and extraction plan, including identifying target species, determining optimal harvest times and locations, and selecting appropriate extraction methods.
• Oversee the overall processing and extraction of seaweed compound and drive improvement in all aspects, ensuring the effective use of resources, manage and install infrastructure as required including equipment purchase and maintenance.
• Develops plans for new areas of technology for the manufacturing functions to ensure and sustain leading edge capabilities as well as develop annual capital expenditure and expense budget.

• Possess technical and managerial knowledge in leading process development team.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skill within the organisation.
• Display a can-do attitude with genuine passion and enthusiasm for business excellence.
• Able to think outside of the box, and to provide profitability proposal to the Senior Management for business growth.
• Possess strong initiative and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Have technical knowledge of agronomic inputs required for seaweed production / processing
• Minimum 10 years of experience in seaweed extraction or related industries
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, biology, marine science, or other related field
• Have skills and knowledge in assessing, setting up and maintaining production infrastructure in good order.
• Provide hands-on leadership in engaging team members to guide them on daily priorities and operation.
