Job Role / Job Overview

The Engineering Manager role reports to the General Manager.

Your role will involve strategizing, project management, part staff management. Your collaborative attitude and interpersonal skills will help you thrive as an Engineering Manager.

• To manage the Engineering function to ensure profitability for the organization, through active and focused management of existing and available resources towards achieving Volex’s current and future business strategies.
• To manage the Engineering function to ensure the following, areas are supported and addressed on an on-going basis, either directly or through existing resources.

Responsibilities

• Support local and regional sales in new product and process development efforts directly related to Volex Technology Roadmap offering.
• Assist Sales and marketing functions to provide technical details to formulate brochures and White papers that are directed to help comprehension levels of Volex engineering capabilities for internal and external audience alike
• Provide leadership and direction to the engineering team to handle complex project and program introductions with key customers.
• Initiate and lead cost reduction projects that will help sustain and grow existing sales volume and profitability with existing and new customers
• Actively spearhead Volex’s Lean implementation and continuous improvement strategy consistent with established goals and objectives.
• Carry out periodic performance reviews consistent with the Volex policies, in addition to enhancing their job function, and to help formulate new goals and guide them to achieve it.
• Work with customer directly to provide engineering and custom solutions consistent with Volex capabilities
• Develop new manufacturing techniques, and improve existing processes through cost effective means to achieve savings in labor and material content
• To implement changes to appropriate engineering systems to increase the efficiency of manufacturing operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Computer literate MS Excel, Word, Power Point
• Knowledge of Design, drafting and prototyping as it related to process and product development Knowledge and experience in Six Sigma concepts and implementation.
• Hands-on knowledge and practical experience in Lean manufacturing Techniques as it relates to a manufacturing industry
• A thorough understanding of engineering processes, specifically how they relate to the manufacturing of products.
• 10-12 years of experience in managing engineering team with diverse set of skills and breadth of expertise
• Fluent in English
