Practice Area Profile

BCG's Energy Practice works with Oil & Gas companies, Power & Gas utilities, Energy Engineering & Service players, and supports many other Energy related companies. BCG's Energy Practice Group serves our energy and related clients globally. We work with the senior leaders of leading international and national oil companies, service providers, utilities, regulators and financial institutions.

The Energy Practice has a fast annual growth of around 25% in the past 5 years, Energy represents 10% of BCG's global revenues. Worldwide there are a core group of over 300 Partners, Principals and Project Leaders, supported by a large group of Energy experienced and trained Consultants globally, many with pre-BCG industry experience. We have enjoyed successful growth and sustained client demand over the last 5 years, and have built a high calibre team of local and global experts. Our projects typically apply BCG's core consulting skills in functional areas such as strategy, organization or performance improvement, but in the distinctive environment of Energy

What You'll Do

• Contributing to the development of intellectual property within the Practice Area(s), including improving methodologies, tools, techniques and developing new ideas and approaches
• Leading senior client presentations and meetings
• Providing apprenticeship and coaching to junior consultants to help develop their consulting skills, including sharing knowledge and experience, giving frequent feedback and creating opportunities for team members to learn and grow
• Actively managing multiple client and stakeholder relationships
• Driving development of the content, either directly or by providing guidance to the consulting team (for example, by sharing ideas, frameworks or providing input on research and analysis)
• Leading the day-to-day execution of consulting projects and ensuring successful delivery of client requirements within the scope of the engagement; including:
• Supporting and contributing to other BCG projects, for example by sharing expertise or best practices
• Supporting South east asian offices, which may include recruiting, training or other activities
• Owning the project planning and process management, and communicating progress to clients and BCG leadership
• Managing project scope and maintaining an acceptable pace of work
• Contributing to business development efforts, including preparation of proposal documents and attending pitch presentations
• Managing the client relationship on a day-to-day basis

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

Qualification

• Willingness to travel internationally and to work remotely on client sites
• A strong track record and a close network of professional contacts at key clients within the energy sector.
• Experience of working with/for well-functioning, advanced and global businesses.
• Interested in deep experience in part of the oil value chain
• 8-10 years of consulting experience focused in energy sector .
• 3-5 years leading/playing core role in driving projects - owning the project process, content and day-to-day client interactions.
• Specialization in a functional area preferred (e.g., Operations, Sales, Marketing)
• Experience running large programs, transforming business units e.g., cost optimization, digital strategy
