Our Consultancy & Advisory Services team provides our clients with outstanding technical expertise that enables the successful implementation of complex sustainability projects. Our expertise spans across multiple topics including land and water management, climate strategies, renewable energies, environmental impact assessments, green products, climate policy, carbon pricing, climate finance, and sustainable finance, to name just a few. Job summary:

The goal of the Analyst is to support the implementation of international projects, the preparation of proposals and the development of new products for the corporate sector. This involves a variety of tasks, such as research, information analysis and writing deliverables and proposals on renewable energy solutions (renewable energy and energy efficiency). You will mainly contribute to supporting project teams with medium-sized and large mandates but will also be expected to manage small projects yourself occasionally.

Main tasks & responsibilities:

• Topics of engagement may include: global renewable energy strategies, policies and regulations related to corporate sourcing of renewables, energy attribute certificates, green tariffs, corporate PPAs, on-site renewables, supply chain engagement on renewable energy, RE100 compliance, CDP/RE100 reporting, new renewable technologies, energy efficiency and thermal energy applications in the industry
• Assist with proposal/deliverable preparation and implementation for the corporate sector on renewable energy solutions, including both technical and administrative requirements, to the quality level required by South Pole and the client, for our international clients
• Ensure that assigned tasks/projects are delivered on time and within the allocated budget
• Manage project information and knowledge according to our project management best practices
• Occasionally manage small projects, coordinating with the client and taking care of technical and administrative requirements
• Support with the development and improvement of specialised skills, tools and knowledge linked to the topics and services offered by South Pole
• Support business development through desktop research and developing materials to be shared with possible clients and partners

Requirements:

Essential -

• Good writing skills, with the ability to contribute to high-quality written documents (proposals and deliverables)
• Excellent oral and written skills in English. Additional language fluency in Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, or Korean is considered advantageous
• Relevant knowledge of energy markets (energy policy and regulations), renewable energy sourcing challenges in multinational companies, energy efficiency, renewable energy applications in the industry, new energy technologies
• Relevant knowledge/experience on conducting energy audits and assessments. This involves analysing energy consumption patterns, identifying energy-saving opportunities, and recommending energy efficiency measures
• University degree, ideally in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Renewable Energy Policy, Economics or sustainability/energy-related disciplines
• Good communication and collaboration skills with clients, team members and other relevant stakeholders
• Ability to manage small projects in a multi-stakeholder and multi-geography context
• Relevant work experience in sustainability consulting or related fields, including specific consultancy or research experience related to renewable energy, ideally corporate renewable energy strategies and energy efficiency
• Ability to conduct research tasks and analyse and summarise data, data analysis and modelling
