Principal Architect Jobs

Wolkk is seeking a full time Principal Architect. It's a long term position and you will be working on a project for our client, an International Logistic company.

You are the expert in your field. You will investigate, analyse and record all or part of a business (functions, processes, information, systems, engineering, technical tool/processes, hardware environments, performance and security) in a systematic approach.

You are required to manage architecture-related communication inside and outside Client’s IT Services. You will design and develop integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs. You need to take account of relevant architectures, strategies and policies. You will be managing the staff priorities, assignments, practices and objectives of the architecture (discipline) team.

Responsibilities:

• TERADATA new features POC and testing and KT to broader audience
• TERADATA onboarding checklist reviews and follow ups with product teams
• Document work using the required standards, methods and tools
• TERADATA platform health check (VP, DBQL, RESUSAGE, PBI dashboard, trend analysis)
• TERADATA Workload Management review and provide improvements to DBA team (workload monitor, workload designer review of throttles/priorities/classifications/unclassified workloads)
• TERADATA platform inefficiencies per product based on standard test cases – identify set of test cases to continually monitor and flag back to product teams
• Apply standard methodologies when creating new architecture, programs and applications or when maintaining existing ones
• Develop communication strategies with the aim to improve the effectiveness of communication to the architecture community at IT Services and Business IT
• May oversee the completion of projects and may contribute to employees’ professional development
• Lead definition, initiation and design of architecture in projects/ programs and coordinate collaboration with external service providers in terms of assembling own or third-party system components
• Act as technical lead of development teams on issues of performance, tools, and standards
• Communicate effectively all important news to the architectural community
• TERADATA reverse engineer/debugging of errors in PROD – help product teams from COETERADATA architecture review of build/design – advocate best practices
• TERADATA PST runs – help profile results, tweak PDM, make use of new feature
• Work with people responsible for architectural communication in all regions of IT Services and in Client’s Business divisions

Requirements:

• Customer and end-user focused and have excellent oral and written communications skills
• Inquisitive and analytical mind
• Experience in Business, Data, Technical Architecture and leveraging tools
• 4 years experience in leadership
• 5 years experience in a relevant technical discipline
• Proven ability to manage non-direct reports to achieve results and to work in a multi-cultural multi-functional environment where consensus is critical for success
• 6 years experience in Business Performance and Analysis (problem solving skills)
• Experience in software engineering with relevant qualifications in IT field and methods including formal methods (e.g. Prince 2)
• 10 years experience in Business Systems Analysis and/ or Business, Data, Technical/ Enterprise Architecture
