Research & Develpoment Scientist Jobs

Key Roles/Responsibilities:

• Chemical Analysis: Utilize various analytical techniques and instruments to analyze detergent formulations, such as HPLC, GC-MS, FTIR, and microscopy. Monitor the quality and consistency of product samples and troubleshoot any issues that arise during development.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including chemists, engineers, product managers, and marketing professionals to ensure alignment of product development goals. Communicate research findings, project updates, and technical information effectively through presentations, reports, and documentation.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards governing detergent products, such as safety data sheets (SDS), labeling requirements, and environmental regulations. Keep abreast of changing regulations and adjust formulations accordingly.
• Formulation Development: Develop new detergent formulations or improve existing ones by conducting extensive research and experimenting with various ingredients and chemical compounds. Optimize formulations for performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
• Innovation and Problem Solving: Stay updated with industry trends, scientific advancements, and regulatory requirements related to detergent products. Identify and propose innovative solutions to enhance product performance, environmental sustainability, and consumer satisfaction.
• Experimental Design and Testing: Design and execute laboratory experiments to evaluate the performance, stability, and safety of detergent products. Collect and analyze data, interpret results, and make recommendations based on scientific findings.
• Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of experimental procedures, results, and formulations. Prepare technical reports, protocols, and patents as required. Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and good laboratory practices (GLP).

Skills/Qualifications

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present research findings.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of detergent chemistry, surfactants, emulsifiers, and other relevant chemical compounds.
• Previous experience in detergent or cleaning product development is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation using statistical tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and innovatively.
• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance related to detergent products is advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a well-recognized FMCG company, wrking exposure and experiences gain from both local company and MNC before would be an added advantage.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation and record-keeping.
• Familiarity with analytical techniques and instruments commonly used in detergent product development.
