Indonesian Sourcing Research Analyst-Feelancer

The Sourcing Research Analyst is responsible for performing primary research (60%) and secondary research (40%) in the field of Purchasing and Supply Management across various industries in Indonesia and surrounding regions (including but not limited to Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand), with research coverage in multiple sectors, e.g. manufacturing, mining, pharmaceutical, telecommunication, oil and gas, financial service, others. Work in a typical day would involve:

• Understanding prospect of procuring goods and services from certain region of interests

• Collecting insights about the market condition from supplier interviews and desk research

• Identifying top suppliers in certain categories and their capabilities

• Soliciting price quotations for goods or services

• Performing cost modelling and analysis

Responsibilities:

• Understanding research requirements and formulate actionable research approaches

• Drive client discussions and scope alignment, timeline planning, output delivery and feedback

• Identify and gather relevant company, industry, and macro-economic information using a broad spectrum of appropriate sources – including press search, databases, cold call, etc.

• Synthesize clear takeaways from complex information using both qualitative and quantitative methods

• Deliver accurate, insightful research findings to clients as per the committed timelines

• Develop and manage knowledge subjects in a range of industry and functional areas for up-skilling and team sharing

• Engage in secondary research exercises on variety of topics across industries in Indonesia, Southeast Asia and/ or any regions globally

• Bachelor’s degree or above

• 1-2 years of full-time working experience; exposure to market research/ consulting/ general professional services industry is preferred

• Extrovert, confident personality. Comfortable with primary research, with exceptional telephoning and emailing etiquette

• Solid communication (verbal & written) and coordination skills in both English and Indonesian

• Strong analytical skills with a focus on business issues; good commercial sense

• Ability to learn and deliver in a fast-paced work environment, having a sense of urgency

• Extremely high attention to details; putting highest priority on accuracy, precision and quality

• Self-driven, high sense of responsibility and able to work remotely (based in Indonesia) and independently with minimum supervision

• Ability to work in a team with multiple people

• Knowledge of MS Office tools especially Excel and Powerpoint
