• Interview guests and other members involved in particular stories
• Organize the news/issues to present the most interesting pieces first
• Collaborate with the video director/producer to choose stories to broadcast considering audience preferences
• Revise scripts and prepare to deliver them on-air
• Introduce news correspondents reporting on the scene and ask them relevant questions
• Ensure late-breaking news/issues are added to newscasts
• Meet with the video director, video producer, reporters, and other news anchors to be briefed on the day’s news/shoot
• Engage in Commentary
• Comply with the moral code of the journalistic profession

Job Requirement

• Proven work experience as a host, MC, or news anchor
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and strict deadlines
• BSc degree in journalism, communications, or a relevant field
• Available to work on a flexible schedule
• Excellent verbal skills
• Broad knowledge of local, national, and international affairs (e.g. political, economic, legislative, entertainment, cultural, and current events)
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to improvise in a live on-camera setting
• Comfortable yet professional presence on camera
• Understanding of the newscast process
