• Authorized to approve gate passes and leave applications of design engineers in the absence of the Engineering Manager or Design Manager
• Generate calculations, drawings, sketches, instructions, templates, and other materials to provide guidance for drafters and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project requirements and customer specifications
• Provide technical assistance to internal design engineers and technical staff, as well as shop floor personnel as needed
• Authorized to approve drawings in the absence of the Engineering Manager or Design Manager
• Implement engineering design improvements, new materials, new components, or new design techniques
• Review and make recommendations regarding the hiring and training requirements for engineers and supporting staff
• Establish positive working relationships with site staff and other departments (Project, Operation, Quality) to ensure designs are constructed as intended and to encourage feedback for future design improvements and waste reduction
• Engage with upper management to seek guidance and make informed decisions
• Evaluate and review project drawings (e.g., manufacturing drawings, spool drawings, isometric drawings) for technical accuracy with project specifications and purchaser requirements
• Implement administrative policies, procedures, and standards
• Comply with the organization's health, safety, and environment policy, and ensure its consistent implementation throughout the team
• Develop and design awarded project drawings
• Participate in kick-off meetings, GPM, PIM, and PPM to ensure timely development of designs and drawings that meet end-user requirements
• Develop detailed plans to achieve goals
• Evaluate and review drafter's or designers drawings, calculations, or design and preparation of material take-off
• Grant approval to product designs only after conducting a comprehensive review of their technical accuracy
• Develop overall concepts for new product designs
• Identify and resolve any discrepancies or potential problems in product implementation, such as incorrect calculations, designs, or material issues
