Job Role / Job Overview

The Deputy GM / General Manager job opportunity has become available at our manufacturing plant in Batam. This role will deputise as the GM and is responsible for managing and leading the manufacturing plant operations in the areas of safety, compliance, quality, supply chain, engineering and cost control in relation to profitability, productivity, materials management, training, and continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities for this role

• Drive compliance to the ethics policy and holds others accountable for ethical conduct
• Providing technical support and services and addressing production and quality issues to Sales team whenever necessary
• Developing and managing the strategies, plans and produces to achieve the organisational and financial objectives of the company
• Controlling day-to-day operations of all manufacturing resources to ensure the fulfilment of scheduled production requirements and priorities
• Effectively managing labour requirements, manpower planning, production planning, stock management, instrumentation calibration, plant improvement while developing innovative systems and processes
• Set overall plant objectives to ensure effective operations and direct all functions of the plant operations: manufacturing, engineering, safety, quality, supply chain, HR and finance
• Align operational objectives with the overall business objectives to ensure a strategy-focused workforce
• Attract, select, develop, train, coach, appraise, and motivate managers and other personnel in key staff positions within the facility
• Developing a clear performance objective for the employees and ensuring that key roles are staffed with people who can effectively undertake their roles in the business and that the roles are clearly defined and understood
• Create a culture of exceeding customer expectations, ensuring that the organization is highly responsive to customer needs and issues

Education & Industry Experience required

• Knowledgeable in Kaizen and Lean manufacturing methodologies
• Experience of being audited by internal and external auditors; you will be experienced working with external regulators and customers e.g. during audits, inspections and product launch
• Minimum 10-15 years of hands-on experience in electronic manufacturing plan
• Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Knowledge of current technologies in manufacturing, engineering, NPI, materials management/inventory control, supply chain, quality assurance systems, processes and practices

Key Deliverables for this role

• Executing management-led initiatives.
• Responsible for the P&L
• Drive Kaizen continuous process improvement to achieve cost savings.
• ESH compliance across the entire manufacturing process, alignment with sustainability and reduced environmental impact goals
• Delivering the budget

Job Specific Personal Requirements

• Computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Powerpoint
• Ability to lead the team members to accomplish key project to meet customer’s requirements within time frame.
• Willingness to travel whenever necessary.

Languages

• Fluency in English is essential.
• Mandarin or Bahasa Indonesia language skills will be a plus
