We currently have a great opportunity for an experienced Workshop Maintenance Manager specialised in Drill & Blast equipment, based on a mine site overseas, on an attractive rotation basis.
The role:
The Workshop Maintenance Manager Drill & Blast is responsible for the managing of, and providing clear direction to the Workshop personnel for any maintenance or repair tasks. The incumbent is to provide expert and quality guidance to the Workshop personnel to enable them to carry out all tasks, involving repairs and routine maintenance of the company’s fleet of fixed and mobile equipment within the constraints of Company Policies and Procedures.
This position reports to, and is directed by, the Operations Manager. Working relationships are with fellow workshop staff and with all employees.
The responsibility of this position is to carry out all tasks in a safe, timely and cost effective manner whilst maintaining a high quality of workmanship. The incumbent is also required to carry out all tasks in accordance with the company’s SOP’s, maintain and keep serviceable all workshop tools and equipment related to carrying out their day to day tasks and also keep the workshop clean and free from any hazards. Whilst representing the company the position holder must demonstrate behaviors that reflect the company values, organizational requirements and up hold the company code of conduct.
Training, qualifications & skills required:
- Previous maintenance experience with Drill & Blast equipment is a must
- 5 years’ experience at a senior/management level in a similar role, within the Drilling industry in a remote mining environment will be a distinct advantage as will the ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment
- Solid computing skills with basic Microsoft packages.
- Prepared to work out of hours as required
- Willingness to train and mentor the national workforce in a developing country setting, ensuring continual improvement and succession planning
- Previous experience as field HEF with hydraulic and engine maintenance experience is a must
- Physically fit, healthy and able to travel
- Demonstrated ability to build sound working relationships with clients, management and staff at all levels in the organisation
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and leadership skills, with the capacity to develop a sense of team spirit toward achieving company goals and objectives
