EXPERIENCE:
-At least 5 years’ experience as in a professional kitchen
-At least 2 years’ experience as a Jnr sous chef in a professional kitchen
-Experience working in a remote location or island based resort is preferable
-Good standard of written and spoken English
-Basic pastry and baking skills
-Good leadership, training, motivation and communication skills.
-Hard working and willing to work longer hours
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Hours – flexible depending on requirements.
·Report to head chef.
·Follow guidelines and directions from head chef.
·Following HACCAP cleanliness procedures and protocols
·Placing weekly and daily orders according to occupancy
·Maintaining stock control in both dry and cold storage – inspect daily to ensure quality is maintained and avoid food spoilage- FIFO (first in first out)
·Attending daily morning briefings when head chef is off duty
·Wear proper uniform whenever at work.
·Making guest snacks & pastries
·Meal preparation
