Section Head - Operations (Process) Engineering – Cells & Modules (Expatriate In India) M/F

We are looking for a Section Head - Operations (Process) Engineering – Cells & Modules base in India for our client, one of the biggest Indian companies, with more than 120,000 employees, in hydrocarbon exploration and production, petroleum refining and marketing, petrochemicals, retail, and telecommunications. They are launching a new energy business and they are recruiting their leaders.

Job summary :

The Section Head - Operations (Process) Engineering – Cells & Modules will be responsible for overseeing the solar cell and module related processes and improvement activities and process integration programs to drive for continuous improvement. He/ she shall be a mature and dynamic leader with strong engineering and development system background and proven capabilities to yield improvements and cost reduction. He/ she is expected to have strong engineering skills, semiconductor/ solar process knowledge, sound methodologies and best-known practices in engineering; able to drive cost improvement, process optimization, contentious improvement in solar efficiency through innovative methods. He/ she would also need to have working knowledge in production system development and capture opportunities in process automation, data analytics and machine learning in order to establish Industry 4.0 capabilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

• Manage a large team of managers and engineers supporting solar cells and PV modules plants.

• Coach and mentor managers and engineers and develop strong bench-strength in the department.

• Evaluate and develop department competencies on a yearly basis.

• Set up process specifications, improve yield with application of engineering tools such like FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), Six Sigma, Kaizen, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), DFMEA (Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis), DOE (Design of Experiments), and others.

• Work with Technology teams & Quality teams to ensure new and existing products continuously improve on cost, performance, quality and field reliability.

• Ensure compliance to product certification standards and achieve excellent audit ratings.

• Participate in meetings with vendors, technology, Quality teams in developing new material evaluation and characterization

• Be accountable to implement reliability engineering targets for each product produced.

• Upgrade and develop inspection and measurement system capabilities for each manufacturing line.

• Drive cost improvements on a yearly basis for the organization using Lean methodologies.

• Be accountable to optimize processes using automation and achieve competitive edge.

Required Qualifications, Competence & Skills :

• Bachelor’s degree and above in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Material Science/ Chemistry/Physics

• 8-10 years of direct working experience in Process Engineering

• Proven track records in leading cost improvement projects in a manufacturing industry

• Ability to work well with different levels of management and engineers

• Good presentation skills

• Possess sound knowledge of automation systems on the production floor

• Trained in SPC, DOE, FMEA, Control Plans
