Job Description

In the mining industry, HR and GA professionals play integral roles in managing human resources, facilities, and administrative functions. HR oversees recruitment, training, and employee well-being, ensuring compliance with labor laws and safety standards. GA manages facility maintenance, supply chain logistics, stakeholder relations, and crisis preparedness, while promoting compliance with regulations and sustainability initiatives. Together, they ensure a skilled workforce, safe operations, and efficient administrative processes within the mining environment.


Responsibilities

1. Workforce Management:

  • Recruitment, selection, and onboarding of mining personnel.
  • Managing employee records, contracts, and documentation.
  • Developing job descriptions and qualifications for various roles.

2. Labor Relations:

  • Managing employee relations, including conflict resolution and grievance handling.
  • Collaborating with labor unions and addressing labor-related matters.

3. Training and Development:

  • Identifying training needs and organizing relevant training programs.
  • Fostering skill development and career advancement opportunities.

4. Performance Management:

  • Providing feedback and supporting employee growth.
  • Implementing performance appraisal processes and goal-setting.

5. Compensation and Benefits:

  • Administering compensation packages and benefit programs.
  • Managing salary adjustments, bonuses, and incentives.

6. Facility Management:

  • Overseeing facility maintenance, security, and cleanliness.
  • Coordinating repairs, renovations, and facility upgrades.

7. Supply Chain and Procurement:

  • Managing inventory and procurement processes for mining resources.
  • Collaborating with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely deliveries.

8. Vendor and Contractor Management:

  • Ensuring compliance with agreements and quality standards.
  • Maintaining relationships with external vendors and contractors.

9. Budget Management:

  • Allocating resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Developing budgets for HR and GA functions and tracking expenses.

10. Stakeholder Relations:

  • Building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Interacting with local communities, regulatory bodies, and government agencies.

11. Crisis Management:

  • Coordinating emergency drills and preparedness activities.
  • Developing and implementing crisis response plans for emergencies.

12. Environmental Stewardship:

  • Supporting eco-friendly initiatives and waste management.
  • Aligning GA practices with environmental regulations and sustainability goals.

13. Administrative Tasks:

  • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Handling administrative duties such as record-keeping, documentation, and reporting.

14. Communication:

  • Facilitating effective communication between management and employees.
  • Ensuring clear communication of policies, procedures, and changes.

15. Employee Engagement and Well-Being:

  • Developing programs to enhance employee engagement and well-being.
  • Addressing employee concerns and fostering a positive work environment.


Qualifications

  • Crisis Management: Ability to face and manage emergency situations and crises that may occur in a mining environment.
  • Employment Relations: Ability to manage labor relations, including conflict management and negotiations with trade unions where applicable.
  • Educational background : Minimum Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Management, phycologyor Law.
  • Experience : 2-3 Years experience of HR and or GA in Mining Industry, A solid understanding of the mining industry, its regulations, safety standards, and specific HR and GA challenges within the sector is crucial.
  • Budget Management: Ability to manage budgets for HR and GA functions, and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Environmental Awareness: Awareness of environmental practices and relevant regulations in the mining industry.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Relations: Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of parties, including employees, management, external partners and local communities.
  • HR Management: Experience in employee management, including recruitment, training, performance and development.
  • Facility Management: Knowledge of facility maintenance, supply chain management, and procurement management to support mining operations.
