Freelance Senior Pr Advisor/Consultant

We are seeking a seasoned and highly experienced Public Relations Senior Advisor/Consultant on a per-need basis to provide expert guidance and mentorship to our young and dynamic team of PR practitioners.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• When needed, act as a reliable resource for crisis communications management, offering swift and effective solutions.
• Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with local media journalists and outlets to secure media coverage and build a robust media network.
• When needed, being able to assist and give advice on government-relations building (this is a plus).
• Share industry insights, best practices, and trends in PR to enhance team members' expertise.
• Review the team’s latest work to give specific and sound advice on how to improve further in crafting compelling and targeted media pitches, press releases, and PR materials for the local press, giving specific tasks/ action points with clear goals and timelines.
• Offer strategic counsel and direction to the PR team on media relations, sharing relevant knowledge on the latest advancements in the PR and media landscape and sharing effective communication strategies, including giving local, regional, or global case studies as examples.
• 1-2 times monthly sessions of 1.5 - 2 hours with the PR team to provide the following:

QUALIFICATIONS

• In-depth knowledge of local media landscape, journalists, and industry trends.
• Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling PR materials.
• Familiarity with digital PR and social media trends is a plus.
• Proven track record of successful media relations and securing high-profile media coverage.
• Demonstrated expertise in crisis communications and issues management.
• Previous experience in mentoring and guiding junior PR professionals.
• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) in Public Relations, Media Relations, or related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, advise and mentor a young team.

This is a freelance position, and the successful candidate will work remotely, offering flexible availability and commitment to scheduled engagements. The sessions with the PR team could be conducted offline in the office or online, depending on the arranged schedule by both parties. The consultant will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), but will not be bound to Vero as a regular employee in any way or form. Compensation will be paid based on a pre-determined daily rate upon signing the freelancer contract.
